There are only 132 guest rooms, suites and villas at Anantara Marbella, which is not many considering the sprawling size of the property. It’s the perfect number to ensure a level of calm and intimacy despite the large space that could accommodate many more. In the main building are the guest rooms and suites, starting with the Deluxe rooms which start at a comfortable 350-340 sq ft. The rooms are luxurious, yet tasteful. They’re decorated as a tranquil oasis, in earthy tones, plush accents and intriguing works of classic art. Every room comes with a luxurious bathroom which includes a travertine soaking tub to die for. The rooms look out to the peaceful rolling greens of the golf course or pretty views of the lake.

If you’re lucky enough to snag a villa in the secluded upper echelons away from the main building, the villas provide your own private palazzo. You can stay in a one- or two-bedroom villa with a private pool, housed in a pink terracotta building surrounded by lush greenery. The villas offer a kitchenette which is ideal for longer stays, as well as a gorgeous terrace where you can enjoy your meals or drinks whenever you wish. You can even stay in Villa Obama, where former first lady Michelle Obama has graced with her presence. Villa Obama is three floors of over-the-top luxury, consisting of two bedrooms that each occupy its own floor, rooftop terrace, private pool and romantic veranda.

The spa at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace might just be the most magnificent spa you’ll ever have the pleasure of experiencing. You’ll be remiss not to spend as much time there as possible. The spa is a drop-dead gorgeous recreation of over 20,000 sq ft of luxurious Roman baths. The huge complex includes 3 different aromatherapy steam baths, Greek sauna, Finnish sauna, sea salt hammam, floatarium, cold plunge pool, massage showers and heated indoor pool. And that’s just the facilities outside of the full offering of massages, full body treatments, facials, beauty services and more. You’ll feel like Caesar himself soaking in in a marble plunge pool surrounded by classic Roman statues. It’s no wonder that this spa won Best Spa in Spain at the World Travel Awards in 2019.
