The Swiss Alps is a favorite for skiers, but Crans-Montana is a favorite for true jetsetters with high-end boutiques, a casino, restaurants welcoming foodies craving for a refined taste. Situated in southwestern Switzerland, Crans-Montana is the French-speaking part the country offering numerous outdoor activities during summers and wintertime.
Of course, everyone heads to the Swiss Alps for ski and snowboarding, but outside of sports activities, there are other must-do’s a traveler should definitely venture. Here’s a list of things you should absolutely check off your list the next time you find yourself in Crans-Montana.
1. Stop by the tourism office.

Avenue de la Gare 20, 3963, Suisse (map, website)
This is something we typically don’t recommend since we know you probably love to explore on your own. But the tourism office in Crans-Montana offers great advice on ski schools, where to go for spas, hiking trails, where to rent your gear…etc.
2. Pamper yourself with one or many spa sessions.

Hotel amenities often include jacuzzis, spas, massages and thermal baths. Even if you’re not staying in one, you can still pay for a day ticket and get all the relaxation that you need!
3. Dip in the goodness of fondue.

Racelettes, pot-au-feu, and fondue are just some of the essentials when it comes to mountain, wintery food in Crans-Montana. The Swiss, Italians and the French love a steamy communal pot, filled with heavy-duty melted cheese. Nothing warms up the body better on a snowy day!
4. Indulge in caviar, champagne and vodka!

For a very nice treat, there’s a Caviar House & Prunier in the town center. This delicacy consisting of salt-cured fish-eggs is perfectly paired with bubbly French champagne or smooth Russian vodka. The restaurant is also known for its perfectly smoked salmon, so of course, we had to order a plate!
5. Book your apartment or hotel with THE view.

The landscapes at the Swiss Alps is nothing short of majesty and magnificence. You’ve got to have a room with a spectacular view, so that you can wake up and go to bed with the mountains as the perfect backdrop.
