Escape To Your Very Own Sardinian Hideaway At Baia di Chia Resort Sardinia From Curio Collection By Hilton

There’s a place in Sardinia where you can experience natural Mediterranean tranquility by the sea. Baia di Chia Resort Sardinia from Curio Collection by Hilton offers guests a blissful escape on the glittering coast of Southern Sardinia.

Baia di Chia is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature during their Sardinian vacation. Every part of the resort is totally and effortlessly integrated into the natural surroundings. The lobby lounge across from reception is housed inside a rustic pavilion with no walls. You can lounge on chic rustic furniture while looking out at the lush gardens outside. A majestic olive tree sits in the middle of a pretty herb garden across from the lobby pavilion, where guests can take in the fragrant rosemary, thyme and oregano which are to be used in the hotel restaurant. The entire property in general is amazing to walk through, along paths lined with swaying pines and gorgeous views of the mountains and the sea the higher up you go.

The guestrooms and villas of the resort are perched on a winding hill overlooking Chia Laguna and the thickets of olive trees which populate the peaceful mountains. Those who are lucky enough to get a room with a sea view will see the bright jewel-toned waters of Spiaggia di Monte Cogoni and the iconic Torre di Chia standing elegantly on the hill on the other side of the bay.

The aesthetic of the rooms, just like the rest of the resort, is chic and minimalist in earthy and natural tones in order to seamlessly blend into the outdoor surroundings. Each room comes with a private terrace with lovely views of the lagoon, bay or the sea. Because the rooms are spread out throughout the property, even the smaller room categories feel like standalone units housed in rustic Mediterranean houses.

One of the best amenities at the resort is the exclusive section of Monte Cogoni beach which is reserved for Baia di Chia guests. The beaches of Monte Cogoni and Sa Colonia, which share the wide bay and are located side-by-side, are open to the public. However, on the Monte Cogoni side, there’s a section with chic white umbrellas and cabanas which resort guests are welcome to use. Yummy drinks and snacks, which also happen to be very well-priced, are served at Chia Beach Bar behind the cabanas. Monte Cogoni and Sa Colonia are along the most stunning beaches in Chia along the Southern Sardinian coast. Guests can walk down to the beach at any time to swim in the clearest light aqua waters and lounge the day away in cabanas while taking in the views.

Il Ginepro is the main restaurant at the resort which serves colorful Mediterranean and Sardinian fare. The restaurant is a serene white space that comes with a large terrace overlooking lush tropical gardens. There’s a daily menu which changes day to day, as well as the regular menu which heavily leans towards fresh seafood.

Our favorite starter is the Ceviche di Branzino, as the plate itself looks like a work of modernist art: cold slices of fresh branzino are plated among tangy sweet drops of berries and fruit. The Mezzi Paccheri with pumpkin carbonara is fabulous, with perfectly chewy paccheri, savory-sweet pumpkin sauce and crispy bits of guanciale. Guests can order other bold dishes like monkfish wrapped in cheek lard and linguine with octopus ragu.

The hotel has a gorgeous semi-Olympic pool which offers a tranquil space to lounge, surrounded by swaying reeds and lush greenery. Next to the swimming pool is Il Canneto bar which offers light meals and drinks throughout the day. Guests are also welcome to use the amenities at Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia, the sister resort located across the road. These include the Conrad Spa and fitness center, as well as all the restaurants and bars at the Conrad resort.

The location of Baia di Chia Resort couldn’t get any better for those who wish to explore the southern coast. The resort is a short drive from all the most famous beaches in the area, including Spiaggia Su Giudeu, Spiaggia Santa Margherita di Pula, Cala Cipolla and Nora Archaeological Island. You can also easily access the scenic mountain road which takes you to the town of Teulada and Spiaggia di Tueredda. The Porto Pino dunes are about an hour’s drive away and Cagliari is 50 minutes away in the opposite direction.
