Long been a favorite among travelers, Wadi Rum, aka: Valley of the Moon, has captivated our hearts via its vast desert landscape adorned with rose sandstone and granite rock. Wadi Rum is situated in the southern part of Jordan and requires a 4-hour roadtrip by car from Jordan’s capital city: Amman.

Petra is another tourist favorite, and often known as the filming site of Indiana Jones, it is 1.5 hours by car from Wadi Rum. The famous archeological city has been in existence since 9,000 BC, and built Petra as the Nabataean (Arabs) Kingdom’s capital during the 4th century as a trading center. Today, Petra’s rock-cut architecture not only makes every photographer’s dream come true, it also showcases the sophisticated ancient water conduit system.
