Chrissy Teigen has always been known for speaking her mind.
From lack of cultural diversity in the fashion industry to dealing with post natal depression, the supermodel certainly believes in freedom of speech.
During her recent interview with Travel + Leisure, the wife of John Legend revealed that Lake Como is where she loves to go for a relaxing getaway. The famous Italian region is also home of George Clooney’s villa and beloved for its lovely microclimate and breathtaking mountainous scenery against clear turquoise waters. Teigen told the magazine:
For me, the most special place is Lake Como, Italy. There’s just something so picturesque and so quiet about it. When you look out on the lake, it looks like a painting. It’s completely silent…There’s so many different aspects of it. You can take a boat up the lake, you can do these little excursions, you can wear sandals with a dress and go eat the best Italian food of your life.
Celebrities’ love for Lake Como started since the Roman period, when aristocrats and wealthy people escaped to the prestigious area for cultural gems. Homes on the shores now belong to: John Kerry, Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, Richard Branson…and many more. As a popular tourist destination, Lake Como offers the perfect setting for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
It’s no surprise that Teigen loves this particular Italian paradise since she and Legend fell in love while vacationing in Lake Como. It’s also where the couple held their 2013 wedding, at Villa Pizzo which has been there since the 1400s. Last year, they even brought their daughter Luna back to this starry haven.
