The beautiful landscaping incorporates waterfalls and a stream of stunning koi fish swimming animatedly.
Why we love this: Serene. Idyllic. Bursting with natural beauty. These are all the ways in which you want to describe your next vacation. At Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort, you’ll find your getaway to be all of the above and more. Silk Sense provides a peaceful sanctuary from which you can explore Hoi An, Da Nang and beyond. With a charming rural backdrop and all the necessary comforts, Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort is the ideal place to stay when visiting everybody’s favorite holiday destination in central Vietnam.
The Experience:
The best part of being at Silk Sense Resort is the lush natural beauty. Everywhere you go, you’ll find yourself under the cover of exotic palms, frangipanis, bougainvillea and vines. The beautiful landscaping incorporates waterfalls and a stream of stunning koi fish swimming animatedly. Being enveloped by tropical plant life creates an environment in which you can’t help but feel supremely relaxed and content. The resort’s compact size makes it very comfortable as well. Everything is easily accessible as soon as you step outside, unlike many other sprawling resorts in which you need a golf cart to get anywhere on property.
The constant presence of the Co Co River adds rustic, idyllic charm to Silk Sense. From lounge chairs and wooden decks on stilts on the riverbank, you can observe and take part in the calm, bucolic life on the river. The hotel offers a number of activities to do on the river, from yoga to basket boat tours to fishing on traditional boats. There’s nothing better than waking up to a clear view of the Co Co River and the rice paddies beyond to truly appreciate life in this rural part of Vietnam.
The resort provides plenty of spaces to simply laze around outdoors. The saltwater pool is 300 (3,000+ sq. ft) square meters of cool turquoise bliss. Rattan sun loungers and underwater daybeds create the trendiest poolside scene for miles. Thanks to the balmy weather, the pool is always at the perfect temperature to jump in and cool off throughout the day. The outdoor bar and Nypa Café provide ample seating and shade so you can enjoy snacks, cocktails and afternoon tea.
Silk Sense Resort is tucked away on a quiet stretch of land between Da Nang and Hoi An Ancient Town. The best part of this location is that it’s very close to the tourist hubs without being in the thick of it, especially since Hoi An has become quite a touristy destination. The Ancient Town is a short ride away on a motorbike or taxi, and the hotel provides regular shuttle services to the town as well as the beach every day.
The Rooms:
Guest rooms are spread throughout separate complexes according to views and features. The rooms are spacious and airy, with even the smallest room clocking in at 39 square meters (420 sq. ft). Guest rooms in the main building come with garden or river views, and are all equipped with outdoor balconies. The décor of the rooms are minimalist and eco-chic, with earthy tones that accentuate the natural beauty outside. Although some of the facilities can seem a bit outdated, the hotel provides all of the comforts and amenities you would need inside the rooms.
The Sense and Premium Suites are fashioned like private villas with separate sleeping and living areas, plus a private plunge pool and garden. They’re perfect for families and groups traveling together, as they can accommodate up to five adults. The top suites are located apart from the main buildings and provide much more privacy inside one’s own lush tropical sanctuary.
Nypa Café & Restaurant:
Nypa Restaurant is a fabulous place to eat fresh authentic Vietnamese cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet is a delight to wake up to, with a colorful spread of fresh fruit, chewy rice cakes and the typical continental selections.
Everyone should order the Mam Com Hoi An at Nypa Restaurant at least once during their stay. The fixed menu for two allows guests to sample the regional cuisine. Mam Com Hoi An features a basket of rice paper wraps, pickled vegetables, prawns, herbs and other garnishes, plus the most delicious fried fish topped with ginger, scallions and chili. Wrap it all up, and you’ll taste all the amazingly light and fresh flavors of central Vietnam.
Sense Spa:
It’s easy to be tempted to get a treatment at Sense Spa, which is conveniently located right next to the pool. You may be tempted more than once thanks to the sweet happy hour deals which the spa occasionally offers. If you’re lucky enough to snag a deal, you’ll be able to get one sixty minute treatment for free if you book a ninety-minute treatment at the spa.
At Sense Spa, you can discover exotic essential oils made from native tropical flora, along with Vietnamese massage techniques which focus on specific pressure points throughout the body.
