For those longing for the swinging 60s and colorful pop mod aesthetic.
Scottsdale, Arizona is swanky, stylish and sunny. And there’s no other hotel that captures the region’s glamorous culture, past and present, than Hotel Valley Ho.
Hotel Valley Ho is a historic, American landmark. Opened in 1956, the hotel lured guests with modernist architecture, impeccable style and fun times from the very beginning. It’s where Hollywood stars like Tony Curtis, Bing Crosby and Bette Davis came for a private getaway in Paradise Valley. Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner even got married there in 1957. As a “Historically Hip, Modernist Icon,” Hotel Valley Ho still attracts crowds with the same mid-century glamour that continues to be cool and sexy today.
Staying at the hotel is like attending a swanky house party in the 60s. The hotel does an amazing job preserving the era of sunny Hollywood glam. The interior décor pops with bright colors like orange, turquoise and yellow, and everyone is buzzing with excitement over their stylish getaway. The smallest details like drinking coffee from a mug with dots or fur carpets draped over chairs make you feel like you’ve escaped to another era.
Accommodations are split between The Hotel and The Tower. The Hotel is comprised of standard guest rooms and suites in cute, modernist low-rise buildings surrounding the pool. Each guest room is styled in chic, mod décor that feels like a blast from the past. Every room opens out to a private balcony or patio where guests can lounge and enjoy Scottsdale’s sunny weather. The Terrace and Executive Suites have entire wrap around balconies and even cooler mod décor so you can really feel like you’re living it up in 1960.
The Tower is a chic boutique hotel within the hotel where guests can treat themselves to a stay overlooking Scottsdale’s city lights. The décor in The Tower feels slightly more modern, but maintains the same retro, groovy vibe. The Tower rooms are luxurious and spacious with modern amenities such as iPod docks, oversized showers and coffee makers. The suites include a fully stocked kitchen with bright, glossy cabinets that make you feel like a domestic goddess from the 50s. The Loft and Presidential Suites feature floating staircases and fine art for the most posh, trendy stay you could ever imagine.

Outside of the uber-stylish mod rooms, there’s plenty of activities around the hotel to keep guests busy and buzzing during their stay. Hotel Valley Ho is also extremely well-located in Scottsdale where all the hottest shopping hubs, restaurants and museums are just a short ride away.
The most happening area of the hotel is the OH Pool where guests and locals can enjoy Scottsdale’s sunshine all year round. There are lounge chairs, cabanas and daybeds fanned all around the circular pool. Music is bumping day and night so there’s always a pool party happening at OH Pool, especially in the summer when the parties are legendary. Order Americana versions of classic cocktails like the Key West Mimosa, Sonoran Sangria or Texas Mule and yummy snacks brought straight to your cabana. Luckily, for those who want to lounge in peace, there’s the OHasis Pool that’s quietly tucked away amongst lush greenery.
The hotel restaurant ZuZu is a stylish, casual venue serving classed-up American fare and snazzy cocktails. You can get anything from healthy snacks to hearty comfort food with a classy twist like the Truffle Grilled Cheese Stack or Blue Corn Pinion Pancakes. ZuZu is always humming with activity from Wine Wednesdays to live music on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s a laidback but classy watering hole for guests who like to socialize and get their drink on during vacay.
You can also get glamorous and treat yourself to the ultimate luxe retreat at VH Spa. There’s a wide range of fun, fabulous treatments from beauty to skincare to massages. Obviously the Jet Set Crowd packages are what have us intrigued with creative treatments inspired by world destinations. Like Capri Blood Orange Cool featuring blood orange aromatherapy and chilled marble or Helsinki Nature which utilizes nutrients from different fruits and plants. Outside the spa there’s a 24 hour fitness center with an impressive number of high-tech workout machines and a yoga studio that offers classes twice a week.
For those longing for the swinging 60s and colorful pop mod aesthetic, Hotel Valley Ho is the perfect place to be. Treat yourself to fabulous mid-century glamour like your favorite Hollywood stars, past and present, at this perpetually cool American landmark.
