Crash With 360° Views Of Taipei At amba Taipei Songshan

Why we love this: amba Taipei Songshan is making a splash as one of our favorite new hotels in Taipei! Loaded with iconic views and uber-convenient amenities, amba Taipei Songshan is the perfect property for a fun, relaxing city break in bustling Taipei.

Modern, stylish and lighthearted, this is the perfectly fun urban getaway in Taipei.

The Concept:

amba Taipei Songshan is the newest of three amba properties in Taipei. Just five minutes from Taipei 101 on the free shuttle, the hotel sits on the top five levels of the skyscraper across from the Songshan metro station. It sits in close proximity to the nightlife district of Xinyi and just a stone’s throw from the exciting Raohe Night Market.

As soon as guests step out of the elevator, they’re greeted by progressive eco-chic contemporary design. Huge striking bamboo chandeliers of various shapes and sizes light up tall open common spaces. The one-of-a-kind lanterns were all handmade in Central Taiwan, each three-meter lantern taking six artists 14 days to make. The stunning artistry of the lanterns alone attest to amba’s impressive eye for the latest in unique contemporary design. Chic white spaces are filled in with bright pops of color from graphic design posters, gumball machine, foosball table, ping pong table and sleek furniture. Floor-to-ceiling windows are a constant throughout the hotel. amba Taipei Songshan boasts 360° views from Taipei 101 to the Keelung river. The lively cityscape of sunny Taipei accompanies guests wherever they go.

The Taiwanese hospitality brand has done its homework when it comes to providing thoughtful amenities for travelers to have a seamless hotel experience. They say god is in the details and indeed, it’s all the small things that stand out when you stay at amba. For example, the brand realized that travelers hate nothing more than having little to no counter space in the bathroom for their toiletries. Thus, every room at amba comes with a wide bathroom sink and tons of surface area to hold everything you need during your stay. It also comes with cheeky bathroom amenities that say things like “you don’t need to brush all your teeth, just the ones you want to keep.” Funky playfulness is a main characteristic of amba. Doors are decorated with decals of events that happened in the year which corresponds with the room number (from 1700-2100). Mugs will tell you “there is no life without coffee” and “a cup of tea makes everything better.” The free self-service laundry doesn’t hurt either.

With sweeping views and unique amenities, amba Taipei Songshan is designed to provide the effortlessly comfortable stay that savvy travelers are looking for. Everything about the hotel is modern, stylish and lighthearted, making for the perfect fun urban getaway in Taipei.

The Rooms:

There are no bad views at amba Taipei Songshan. All the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows which either look out to Taipei 101 or the Keelung River. You can wake up and fall asleep to cityscapes on cityscapes. All the natural light you could ever want floods in through the windows. The décor of the rooms is white and minimalist to accentuate the view. Plenty of comfortable chaises and rocking chairs are provided for lounging by the window. Extremely comfortable king or double beds are framed by colorful graphic posters and funky slogans.

The room gets quite high-tech with HD internet TV, Ecostat Comfort rain shower, Nespresso maker, wireless Bluetooth speaker and tons of universal outlets. Plus, get excited! Every room is equipped with its own individual Wi-Fi access point, allowing for flawless internet connection throughout your stay. No more spotty Wi-Fi as you move around the property or issues connecting to the hotel network. amba’s level of attention to detail makes it the ideal choice for frequent travelers who know exactly what they need from a modern hotel.

Que Woodfired Grill:

Que woodfired grill boasts river views and chic design just as impressive as the rest of the hotel. The restaurant specializes in seafood and meats fire grilled with hard wood from longan trees. It’s a relaxed contemporary chophouse where you can order the likes of all-natural ribeye steaks, Chilean Seabass, Lamb Chops and Grilled Whole Boston Lobster. It’s an ideal place for a laidback dinner with awesome views for both travelers and locals alike.

The daily breakfast buffet at Que will have you eagerly jumping out of bed every morning. The buffet does justice to local Taiwanese breakfast items rather than just focusing on the same continental foods. There are separate buffets for glutinous rice rolls, Dandan noodle soup and congee, plus stacks of steamed buns and dumplings.

A fully stocked bar with an international wine list makes for the perfect place to lounge and have a quick break. Sit back with a glass of wine or Taiwanese whiskey, and enjoy the view at any time throughout the day. Que’s bar menu is just as delicious as lunch or dinner. You can choose among super yummy snacks like truffle fries, shrimp fried rice or prime beef burger. The Beef Spare Ribs Noodle Soup, for which the ribs are actually fire grilled, are a must-try as well.
