Because spring break has begun.

Alright people, March has crept up on us and yes, you know what that means. No more stuffing your face with the Valentine’s Day chocolates, because spring break has begun. Whether you’re going on an exotic, tummy revealing getaway, or skiing down the heavenly slopes of Lake Tahoe, it’s time to come out of hibernation and get moving. While it’s important to remember that fitness is a lifestyle, not just a temporary fix, there are few things you can do to speed up the process by intensifying your workout routine. Here are my seven favorite ones!

1. For the booty:

One word: Squats. You can do these anytime, anywhere. So do them, because butts don’t lift themselves!

2. For the guns:

And by guns, I mean arms. You can bet Michelle Obama did not develop those sculpted biceps of perfection by sitting back while Mr. President was out and about. Take a stab at these chair dips and wave those jiggly arms goodbye!

3. For the legs:

Seeing someone with awesome legs can really make my day. If you want to make someone’s day too, try a power plié. Why do you think ballerinas have such wonderful legs?!

4. For your heart:

Let’s face it, there’s not fitness without some cardio, and my personal favorite is running… but strictly outdoors. I’d rather gauge my eyes out (dramatic?) than run on a treadmill inside a gym, but I assure you, outdoor runs are a completely different experience. And it’s free!

5. For your libido:

Well… pretty self-explanatory.

6. For the defined waist/hips:

Shakira had a wisdom that transcended her age when she proved that hips really do not lie. Try this core challenge every day for a week and then some!

7. For the soul:

There are more yoga poses than freckles on my face, so I’ll pick one that is easy, versatile, and can really never go wrong. And that my friends, is child’s pose. May you say goodbye to your stresses, and let the good energy flow. Namaste, and happy spring break!
