So you wouldn’t call yourself a brew connoisseur, but you like to get down with your friends hops, barley, and yeast on a semi-regular basis.
Trekking the globe, we beer lovers have been exposed to an astonishing variation of lagers, ales, and microbrews that often somehow seem to fit the country (and its people) perfectly. Being that I love beer the way I love oxygen, and I love traveling the way I love food, I thought I would write a little sumpin’ sumpin’ about what your choice brew says about you.
1. Guinness – Ireland
You’re a purist. You know what you like, and you’re confident in your decision to drop your fist on the bar and order a chocolaty man-milkshake. You think craft beer is for people with too much time on their hands and you love great head (the frothy inch of foam at the top of your perfectly poured stout).

2. Palm – Belguim
You can be found sitting outside enjoying your beer with a view. Easy to talk to and genuine, you often find yourself in deep conversations with people you wouldn’t expect. You lean towards the artsy side, carrying a journal or DSLR with you on the road at all times.

3. Cooper’s Original Pale Ale – Australia
You’re tagline is “do it anyway.” A night out isn’t a night out unless it ends with takeaway at five A.M. Casual sipping is your game, but it isn’t uncommon for mentioned casual sipping to turn into casual jumping of fences and ending the night with an epic trespass-worthy event.

4. Heineken – Netherlands
You’re always hunting for a familiar six-pack that will be refreshing and crisp but doesn’t have the words “light” or “lime” in it. Introverted but not boring, you’re far more down to chill at someone’s house than at a bar. You love tossing back a cold one in the afternoon, particularly when accompanied by some grilled meat and a catnap.

5. Brewdog 5 AM Saint – Scotland
“I love hops. Hopsy hopsy hops.” You’re bold, adventurous, and have a taste for the outdoors. As you run your fingers through your slightly ginger beard, you think about what the evening holds for you: four more of these and then a not well-considered attempt at chopping wood.

6. Asahi Kuronama – Japan
Wine isn’t your thing. You don’t mind traveling alone, as you find satisfaction in a great book or a riveting movie. A hard worker who is always on the go, you’re not always a social butterfly, but those who take the time to get to know you are always blown away when they do.

7. Pilsner Urquell – Czech Republic
Beer isn’t just a beverage; it’s your life-mate. What is food without an ice-cold brewski to wash it down? A sacrilege, you tell me. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and fix things on your own, especially when your life-mate is around to keep you company. You’re wise beyond your years.

8. Cristal – Peru
You’re always down for cards and are notorious for poking fun at the people you love. With an open mind and a backpacker’s mentality, you’re ready for anything. You have an uncanny way of making everyone around you feel right at home, even when they’re thousands of miles away.

9. Abita Purple Haze – Louisiana
Let’s just come right out and say it, you love to dance. Where the live music goes, you follow, and it’s hard for you to resist buying a few brews for the musicians…and a few more for your friends, and maybe one for that dude over there with the sweet hat.

10. Kingfisher – India
You’re always reinventing yourself, always innovating. You try to learn from everyone you encounter, and to help those around you whenever you can. People tend to seek you out for life advice (and for where to find the best local spots to grub).

11. Meantime Brewing IPA – England
When you find a pint that you like, you stick with it. You have one hell of a sense of humor and aren’t afraid to use it – both with your friends and against your enemies. Never afraid to be the butt of your own joke, you’re the ambivalent life of the party.
