The annual (minus a year break due to COVID-19) Cannes amfAR Gala took place in Cap d’Antibus, France outside of the Villa Eilenroc on July 16 during the 74th Cannes Film Festival. The event began in 1985 with the goal of raising money for AIDS and HIV research.

Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys was in attendance and even gave a performance, while actress and former model Sharon Stone delivered an encouraging speech as the host of the event. Regina King, Maria Bakalova and Heidi Klum were also some celebrities in attendance at the event. Due to COVID-19, the guest list was smaller than previous years.

Villa Eilenroc was built in 1867 following blueprints done by famous architect Charles Garnier. The Villa was bought by an American couple with the last name of Beaumont in 1927. After many years of hosting lavish parties here, Mrs. Beaumont decided to give the Villa Eilenroc to the city of Antibus if they agreed to open it to the public. Through this agreement, the town created a large rose garden for people to visit.
