All The Filming Locations In “Another Simple Favor”

The protagonists of A Simple Favor are now heading to Capri, where they continue causing trouble in paradise setting.

When A Simple Favor was released a few years ago, we discovered that superstars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively formed an iconic duo on the big screen, narrating the life of two friends bound together by secrets and misfortune. The story of vlogger Stephanie Smothers and the mystifying Emily Nelson – two unconventional women in their own right – continues in Another Simple Favor.

In this sequel, Stephanie travels to the lovely island of Capri to attend Emily’s wedding, where she is set to marry a wealthy Italian businessman. Staying true to the style of its predecessor, the trip unfolds with a series of fateful and comedic events that abruptly disrupt the marriage, setting the stage for suspense and betrayal. Elegance takes on a new form at the disastrous ceremony, which may end up separating the two friends forever. Below, we analyze every detail about the filming process and the marvelous locations where Another Simple Favor was shot.

Most of the film takes place on the stunning Capri, a crystal-clear paradise filled with luxurious sites, such as Grand Hotel Quisisana. An iconic retreat for princes, celebrities, and writers since its first opening in 1845, the hotel stands as an exclusive oasis in the middle of Capri. Just a few steps from Piazzeta, the island’s beating heart, its terraces and private pool offer breathtaking views of Faraglioni, Marina Piccola Beach, and the beautiful Gardens of Augustus.

Its interiors reflect the building’s elegant character, brimming with vintage furnishings and pastel tones that seamlessly blend under the natural Capri light. The Grand Hotel Quisisana hosted the film crew for twelve days, opening its doors exclusively for them. The wedding ceremony was pictured within its majestic spaces, and the stunning vistas were captured during the “I do” scenes.

Lido del Faro, Capri

Lido del Faro is a renowned restaurant and beach club, founded by local entrepreneur Ercole d’Esposito in 1970, and has since become a landmark on the island. Set on the southwestern point of the coastline, Lido del Faro is in the middle of the countryside, hidden from crowds by a secluded path. Protected by the towering Punta Carena Lighthouse, Italy’s second-largest, the restaurant rises over sun-bleached cliffs and sweeping views of the ocean below. It is the perfect spot to savor Capri’s heavenly sunsets with a cocktail in hand and a dinner full of Mediterranean flavors.

Villa Jovis, Capri

Villa Jovis, or Jupiter’s Villa, is a fascinating historical site on Capri. This Roman palace, situated in the northeast of the island at the top of Mount Tiberius, rises 334 meters above sea level, making it the second-highest peak on Capri. Emperor Tiberius sought refuge here, fleeing Rome out of fear for his life, and turned it into a heavily fortified residence.

Due to the rocky terrain, the structure was constructed in multiple levels, with distinct areas for residential spaces, baths, gardens, and service rooms, all interconnected by staircases and corridors. Nearby, a lighthouse once illuminated the gulf. While much of the original decoration has been lost over time, the ruins still feature mosaics, frescoes, and floors that testify to the villa’s former grandeur.

Toronto, Canada

Toronto shifts the setting from Capri’s maritime ambience to the dynamic urban backdrop of the Canadian city. The film also took advantage of Toronto’s studios to capture interior scenes. The city’s hectic atmosphere and modern architecture have made it a popular destination for other productions, including: American Psycho, Good Will Hunting, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
