The first time I met Migs was 6 years ago, when I was representing another company.

We saw each other again this time, the first thing he said was, “hey, I just found some cables you gave me.” Relieved Migs had remembered who I was, Team JST was soon led to a recording studio that I completely recall. Memories came flooding back, I suddenly remembered how young and naive I was almost a decade ago. It’s funny how life brings people back together.
Migs is, by far, one of the coolest guys I know. “Collected Cool” is how I would describe him. Not because he has traveled to some of the most amazing places in the world. Or that he mixes some of the sexiest beats, becoming one of the most legendary underground dance/electronic DJs since the 90s. His cool factor stems from his respectful point of views. He is possibly the least judgmental person I’ve ever crossed paths with. He is unbelievably down to earth, a focused listener and utterly articulate. Like an idiot, I was trying not to laugh too often or smile incessantly throughout our interview. But there is something so calm and collected about his presence that it’s almost ironic to think, this is the same guy who ignites shots of energy in crowds of thousands by the beat of his creativity.

So what is the key to such understated respect? Migs repetitively used the phrase: To each its own. People should make their own decisions and be their own person. Just because I don’t like something, doesn’t mean there isn’t a place for it. I loved this! How often in life, do we place judgements on people or subjects based on our own liking? It seems, life would be somewhat more peaceful, if we simply accept there is a place for everything, just as Migs suggests.
To each its own…
