My personal visit to the Al-Quds Restaurant was won by the exquisite hummus.

The city of Amman is primarily known for the contrast of its blue skies with its sandy structures and ancient relics. Yet the Jordanian capital is also able to boast its selection of foods, encapsulated perfectly in the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Restaurant in the heart of Amman. While not a particularly flashy restaurant, its entrance lies under a green tent and is the door to one of the most exquisite restaurants in the city.
For most visitors, the highlight of this restaurant is its tasty Mansaf, a traditional Arab dish of lamb cooked in fermented dried yogurt, accompanied with bulgur or rice. However, my personal visit to the Al-Quds Restaurant was won by the exquisite hummus. Sprinkled with marinated beef, pine nuts, and oil, the hummus was without a doubt the best hummus I have ever tasted throughout my world travels. The hummus was served with pita bread and French fries, a strange but mouthwatering twist that proved to be a flawless combination after a long flight.

A visit to Al-Quds Restaurant is not complete without a stop by the pastry section. In fact, it is the first section you see through the window upon arrival. The array of baklava and similar sweets is delectable, and an assortment can be packaged to go so that you can enjoy them anywhere throughout your travels in Jordan. Al Quds is the perfect place to explore the traditional ambiance of a Jordanian restaurant while enjoying scrumptious platters and sweets.
