L.A. Century City’s Top Secrets To Staying Fit

Century City is an extremely urban professional area, home to skyscrapers and office buildings.

Due to the nature of the L.A. area, it may appear there are little to no options for getting in a good workout in this city of industry. However, being an avid fitness connoisseur who finds myself in Century City for work almost every other week, I’ve uncovered the top three resources for getting in a full workout and fostering your best self in this area while traveling for business.

1. Run the Green Belt along Santa Monica Boulevard

The green belt along Santa Monica Boulevard is off the busy road with grass, trees and dirt trails that are a lot easier on your knees than concrete streets. There are even a few scenic water fountains and the route takes you straight to Rodeo Drive and the famous “Beverly Hills” city sign so you can see legendary sites while working out! Check out the map below for my suggested route. (Note: I always stay at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza so my route includes directions from the hotel to the greenbelt, however the greenbelt is just the portion along Santa Monica Boulevard. The rest of the route is urban and concrete sidewalks.)

2. Equinox

10220 Constellation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90067 (map, website)

In short, the only gym I’ve ever been to that has its own valet service. Equinox Century City in L.A. offers a full gym with top of the line cardio equipment, weights and strength training machines as well as great classes. In addition, the locker rooms include eucalyptus saunas and full spas, available for use with the purchase of a day pass. This is definitely an indulgent, luxury experience, however the fantastic classes and spa make the $24 day pass well worth the cost. Keep in mind if you’re traveling for work, most companies will reimburse you for fitness fees while on the road. Visits to this gym are the highlight of my business trips to Century City and help me regain my sanity and balance after a long, stressful workday.

3. Earth Bar

10220 Constellation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90067 (map, website)

Earth Bar has fantastic smoothies, acai bowls and juices and is always a go to when I’m in L.A. in Century City. After rich, decadent lunches with clients Earth Bar is a great place to go for a delicious detox smoothie or a colorful acai bowl for a light breakfast to refresh and energize your body before another day of work!
