Saturday 7th October: Yah Yahs, Melbourne
The night before this show we headed out to see Rad Island, Press Club and Grenadiers play at Cherry Bar. All three bands put on killer sets and were the perfect inspiration for the following night! The next day was all about prepping for our show at Yah Yah’s that evening, something I think we were all a little bit nervous about given the long time between drinks for us in our hometown. As it turned out, we had nothing to worry about. It was amazing to see such a huge turnout of friends, family, fans and new faces in the crowd. Truly humbling. Halcyon Drive was started as a live band originally – and while it has been incredible 6 months or so in the studio – the shows will always be an important part of who we are. Abraham Tilbury and Neighbourhood Youth also supported this show and they were both top notch. Definitely keep an eye out for their next moves.
