Lan Kwai Fong is universally known as Hong Kong’s mecca for nightlife enthusiasts. Nestled amidst the city’s hectic streets, this concentrated area boasts some of Hong Kong’s most elite and classy bars. At the head of this festive boulevard stands Hotel Lan Kwai Fong, the home of multiple bars and eateries including Boqueria, LKF’s very own tapas restaurant.
Upon stepping into Boqueria, you’re immediately impressed by its warm and cozy ambiance. Dimmed lights and woody interiors make you feel as though you’re exiting the streets of Asia and entering a wine cellar in Europe. Furthermore, the sangria offered is exquisite and refreshing, especially when paired with its elaborate menu of tapas.
Among its extensive selection are some particularly mouthwatering dishes. My personal recommendations begin with the “Chorizo Frito al Vino Tinto,” or fried chorizo in a wine sauce. Next is the “Salteado de Setas,” or a mix of perfectly sautéed wild mushrooms topped with Manchego cheese and thyme. The “Croquetas Cremosas” are also a must—croquettes filled with either mushrooms or Serrano ham. Finally, the “Carne a la Plancha” offers some incredibly juicy cubes of prime steak and fingerling potatoes, topped with Shishito peppers and mojo verde which give it the perfect palatable touch. For desert, the “Churros con Chocolate” and “Flan” (a caramel egg custard) are among the most scrumptious options.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing evening of tapas and sangria or a way to kick off a night of partying in the surrounding clubs, Boqueria is a perfect spot to hit in Lan Kwai Fong on any occasion.
