[RECAP] Mandarin Oriental Taipei, Wine & Yunnan Noodles

A normal week in Taipei always consists of really great food.

RECAP is a Jetset Times series highlighting local spots and hidden gems that our contributors randomly discover throughout the world.

A normal week in Taipei always consists of really great food, whether it’s in a 5-star hotel or in a random noodle shop. Here’s where I ventured to last week in my motherland!

Mandarin Oriental Taipei 東方文華

No. 158, Dunhua N Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10548 (map, website)

The newest 5-star luxury hotel in Taipei is home to several high-end restaurants, but fancy Southeast Asian flavors can be discovered at Thai Thai which is full of glamour and authentic tastes.

Drinks Liquor Boutique 橡木桶洋酒

No. 245號, Section 3, Zhongxiao E Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106 (map, website)

This may not be a wine cave or a whisky bar, but Drinks is a great option to look for any kind of alcohol all in one place. There are several locations in Taipei so Google for the one nearest where you are.

Yundish 云滇雲南過橋米線

No. 5, Lane 290, Guangfu S Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106 (map, website)

Yunnan is located in southern China, and its cuisine is heavily influenced by Vietnamese culture. For a taste of Yunnan noodles, check out Yundish.
