Here’s the first gem, Mackenzie…enjoy virtually meeting her!

A few months ago, we kicked off Jetset Times Ambassadors Program. The idea is to gear up selected college students from around the country, get them excited about traveling and push forward the concept of a modern jetsetter. Fortunately, we’ve discovered some pretty amazing ambassadors. Now, we think it’s time for you to meet them! Here’s the first gem, Mackenzie…enjoy virtually meeting her! Love, Wendy – CEO/Jetset Times
Hello all, I’m Mackenzie and I’m currently going into my second semester as a senior at the University of Connecticut. I study English and Psychology while also being a member in Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national service sorority. My other hobbies include reading, cooking, petting as many dogs as I can, and constantly talking about my love for my other home, Florence, Italy. I’ve always had a desire to travel and see all the beauty the world has to offer, and I was recently granted four glorious months to do just that. When I travel, I love to indulge in the country’s cuisine and visit all the famous monuments and museums.
Top 3 destinations on my travel bucket list:
1. Lithuania: I was born here so I’ve always wanted to go back and experience the culture of my people.
2. Greece: It’s one of the most beautiful countries in the world so of course I need to see it.
3. All of England: I’m mildly obsessed with everything English, especially since a majority of my favorite authors are from there, so I want to see all the places that inspired them to write such amazing literature.
My must-have items in a packing list:
Book: I’m an avid reader so I always have to have a book with my wherever I go.
Camera: To document all the beautiful things I see, of course.
Travel journal and pen: I like to write down what happens each day because after a while it all becomes a blur, and then a month or so later I can look back on certain things a remember how awesome they were.
Facial wipes: Who doesn’t like to feel fresh and clean after a long plane ride or day trip?
My favorite travel memory:
While studying abroad last semester, one of the first places I visited was Interlaken, Switzerland. I had always wanted to visit Switzerland for two main reasons. One, the breathtaking scenery, and two, so I could hunt down 17 grand slam winner Rodger Federer and get his autograph. While I didn’t get to meet Federer, I did get to take in some beautiful views in one of the most amazing ways, paragliding. One important thing to know about me, I’m terrified of heights, so, me going paragliding is way out of my comfort zone. However, I’m so glad I choose to step outside of it because it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned from traveling:
Things are going to go wrong, but you can’t let that frustrate you and prevent you from going places. I’m a bit OCD when it comes to planning when I travel and if something doesn’t go as planned I get annoyed. However, recently I’ve gotten better at just going with the flow and letting my travels guide themselves as opposed to planning every minute detail.
What does a Jetsetter mean to you?
For me, being a jetsetter is having a love for traveling and wanting to see as much of the world as possible. You have a case of wanderlust and travel whenever possible. Thus, being part of this amazing team of people means that I have someone to share this love for the world and get inspiration for future travels.
