SPOILER WARNING!

The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel in New York is a landmark building, recognizable by the architecture alone to both native New Yorkers and visitors alike. In Partner Track, the hotel is host to a benefit Ingrid is invited to by Nick Larsen, as their first date in the first episode. Much to Ingrid’s surprise, the benefit is hosted by Nick himself, as he is a billionaire philanthropist. As if Nick and Ingrid’s chemistry is not already a fire hazard, Jeff joins in on their conversation, proving he certainly knows how to make a night memorable. The Plaza Hotel is the backdrop for many other famous couples as well, according to its website, including Walter and Annie from Sleepless In Seattle and Daisy and Gatsby in the 2013 adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

The Jury Box

The Jury Box

The Jury Box is the lunch restaurant of choice for all the hard-working lawyers of Pearsons, Valentine and Hunt. With the name dropped almost every single episode, it is easy to wonder if you too can experience the restaurant that is highly frequented by the high-powered attorneys in Manhattan. The good news: The Jury Box is an existing restaurant that according to its Facebook, is “Open to law students, undergraduates, and faculty.” The bad news: The Jury Box is located in Dayton, Ohio. Thus making it impossible to travel from New York in the span of an hour-long lunch break.

The Oak Room

The Oak Room is featured in a climactic scene from episode two titled, “Meta-Strategy.” Ingrid, for the six years she has been with the firm, struggled to gain any recognition for the tireless  work she’s been doing. After there is a snag in a straight-forward case, Marty (the Managing Partner) decides to bring Jeff to deliver the news to the client instead of Ingrid (who is the lead on the case.) Fed up with never being invited into the “boys club” at the firm, Ingrid crashes the meeting with a loophole that salvages the deal. This climactic scene takes place at The Oak Room inside The Plaza Hotel. According to its website, The Oak Room “provides an elegantly paneled, German Renaissance Revival-style space that takes you back in time.” By pushing into the meeting at The Oak Room, Ingrid stops the boys from going too far back in time.

The Maple Ridge Wind Farm

In episode three, titled “Change of Venue,” the audience learns more about the opposition that Ingrid must win over in order to win the case and achieve her ultimate goal: Partner. Standing in the way of that goal is Min Industries, a family-owned company with a focus on renewable energy. A major source for energy being a windmill farm. This requires Ingrid to travel to the farm to secure a deal. As the Min Industries Wind Farm does not exist, I offer The Maple Ridge Wind Farm as a delightful alternative. The Maple Ridge Wind Farm is located in Lowville, New York, just under five and a half hours outside of the Big Apple. According to EDP Renewables, “Maple Ridge Wind Farm produces enough electricity to power more than 136,000 New York homes.” The farm offers power to the public as well as some delicious maple syrup.

The Guggenheim International Gala

Episode four, titled “Due Diligence” peers into Nick Larsen’s lifestyle and wealth, especially now that Ingrid is living with him. Nick gifts Ingrid a pair of emerald earrings (his mother’s to be exact) with the instructions that she wears them at the Gala they will attend together next month. Nick says this with such a casual air, Ingrid is caught off guard. She, like the audience, is reminded once again of Nick’s wealthy status. According to its website, “The Guggenheim International Gala, made possible by Dior, celebrates the Guggenheim’s yearly accomplishments and raises essential funds to further the museum’s range of internationally acclaimed exhibitions, educational programs, and forward-thinking initiatives. Featuring a seated dinner and honored guests, it is our most glamorous night of the year.” In combination with the attire, for Ingrid it would have been a night to remember.

Cedar Lakes Estate

The Cedar Lakes Estate is a beautiful substitute for the company retreat lodge in episode 5, “Out Of Office.” In this episode the lawyers take a “spring break” from work for some much needed bonding. Not only do the lawyers get to experience a nice vacation, but prospective junior partners (still in law school) are invited to tag along to see what they might have to look forward to, if they choose Pearson, Valentine and Hunt. This retreat offers hookups, stolen kisses and dramatic impacts for the lawyers once they return to the office. Luckily, your stay at The Cedar Lakes Estate will offer nothing but relaxation. Its website states that you can, “Rediscover what it means to truly create and connect offline at our breathtaking private estate just 70 miles from NYC, but deep in the scenic heart of the Hudson Valley.”  The Cedar Lakes Estates offer not only rooms for corporate retreats, but for weddings as well. This is your chance to reconnect with nature and find the inner peace that was not granted to the lawyers of Pearson, Valentine and Hunt.

Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel

Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel is featured in the seventh episode of the series titled, “Talking Points.” With the aftermath of the retreat still affecting Tyler, and his future completely uncertain, he turns to drinking for comfort. After one too many, Tyler hooks up with the hot bartender named Javi. And who could blame Javi after Tyler sang a hauntingly beautiful cover of Rihanna’s Stay. While your visit may not include covers from the 2010’s, Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel hosts live music for visitors should they choose to enjoy the array of beverages offered here (sans Javi the bartender.)
