Filming Locations Of Michelle Young’s Season Of “The Bachelorette”

The ​​filming locations of the latest season of “The Bachelorette” have Michelle Young not only exploring new love, but new places too, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After one season of The Bachelor and two seasons of The Bachelorette where Clare/Tayshia and Katie’s casts were confined in hotels, fans can finally enjoy romantic dates outside of pools, hotel lobbies and spas.

For a show which typically takes viewers around the world on dreamy dates, the production team was finally able to indulge in a somewhat post-COVID world with Michelle Young’s season. The Minneapolis native adventured around multiple beautiful locations in the United States, from California to Minnesota. Thankfully, we also get a little bit of love in Mexico later in the season. Here’s a list of where season 18 was filmed, and it was beyond the Renaissance Hotel in Indian Wells.

Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa

Different fro previous location, La Quinta Resort and Spa (Clare/Tayshia’s season,) Young began her journey at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA. This resort is part of Marriott International, Inc., situated in Coachella Valley and right near Palm Springs.

In Indian Wells, you won’t be bored of activities (or the views!) If you are a fan of golf, you’re in luck. Indian Wells has multiple golf courses, in addition to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden – the second largest tennis stadium in the world.

You can also visit the Eisenhower Walk of Honor, which is a landmark dedicated to Dwight D. Eisenhower and American veterans. If you are feeling more adventurous, get on a hot air balloon ride.

Looking for a place to shop? Indian Wells Village is the place to be. Here, you will find many boutiques and restaurants to bring home whatever your heart desires.

Joshua Tree National Park

Another filming location was at Joshua Tree National Park, located in Southern California where the beautiful Mojave desert and Colorado desert ecosystems merge.

Joshua Tree National Park is about 800,000 acres and sprawled throughout are its namesake: Joshua trees.

When visiting the park, people partake in a variety of activities. You can choose to hike, camp, or rock climb. Many visitors also come to soak in the scenery of the stunning views Joshua Tree has to offer.

The Marquette Hotel

This next location is a hotel located in downtown Minneapolis in Young’s home state of Minnesota. The Marquette Hotel is situated right in city center and delivers fantastic views of the skyscrapers, making it a convenient location.

Minneapolis is a city filled with an abundance of things to do: stroll down the Nicollet for shopping and entertainment by day, then head to the Acme Comedy Club by night. Nightlife in Minneapolis consists of visiting the numerous bars the city has to offer. You also need to visit the Mall of America to explore the biggest mall in the United States with over 500 shops.

Minneapolis is also filled with museums and historical sites such as: St. Anthony Falls Visitor Center and Lock and Dam, Fort Snelling, the American Swedish Institute, and the Mill City Museum.

Mill City Museum

Another filming location this season on The Bachelorette is the Mill City Museum. If you’re a history buff, this is definitely a place you will want to check out. The ruins of the Washburn A Mill opened in 1874 to process flour, and it became known as the world’s largest flour mill at the time. Today, it is a National Historic Landmark.

You can tour through the mill while visiting and learn all about the history of how the mill used to operate and process flour. The museum also features special exhibits, so be sure to check out which one is currently operating.

Tickets for the museum are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65 and above, and $8 for children 5 to 17. Children ages 4 and under have free admission into the museum.

Wayzata Beach & Lake Minnetonka

Wayzata Beach is another chosen film location on this season of The Bachelorette. Located in Hennepin County along Lake Minnetonka, the beach is the idea destination for a day immersed in nature, swim in the lake, kayak, canoe, hike on the trails, or sunbathe. It even has a playground for children, as well as shaded areas to avoid the sun.

Wayzata Beach is open from mid-June to mid-August, with lifeguards on duty from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

Although perhaps the most popular, Wayzata is not the only beach located among Lake Minnetonka as it is 14,000 acres in size. Lake Minnetonka is where you can boat, fish, and enjoy a cruise. The same location also hosts numerous events, including: live music, comedy shows, a farmer’s market, and much more.

Stone Arch Bridge

Also featured on Young’s season of The Bachelorette is the Stone Arch Bridge. This is the only arched stone bridge which crosses the Mississippi River to date. Constructed in 1883 as a railroad track (but it is no longer running as such,) the bridge is 2100 feet long and consists of 23 arches.

It is closed from vehicles, but a popular place for people to walk, bike, or take pictures. It is situated near St. Anthony Falls, making it a desirable place for travelers to soak up the views.

Punta de Mita, Mexico

Clearly a romantic location for filming The Bachelorette, Punta de Mita is a serene spot surrounded by beautiful blue oceans and soft sands. Visiting here will leave you feeling rejuvenated upon your return to home.

The very secluded and private shores of Punta de Mita remains clean, since it isn’t crowded with tourists. There are multiple opportunities for excursions, like: snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing…etc.

If you are looking for a day on land, the surrounding towns or San Pancho or Bucerías offer a variety of shops, food, and a chance to immerse yourself deeper into local Mexican culture.
