Half-timbered houses and cobblestoned streets.

This is Gamla Väster, Malmö’s Old Town, a definite must-see in this small seaside town. Since the settlement in the 12th century, Malmö became an imperative trading hub under Danish rule.
In Lilla Torg, or Little Town, cobblestoned streets and half-timbered houses in vibrant colors conjure ambiance of a storybook. The well-preserved buildings from the 16th century are now home to restaurants, cafés, and shops that exhibit all sorts of souvenirs, even the iconic Swedish clogs.

Don’t miss Malmö City Hall and its gorgeous ornate details from original Gothic/Renaissance styles. A few minutes of tranquil stroll away, Malmö Castle’s colossal presence was previously a fortress. Today, it’s the oldest Renaissance castle in all of Scandinavia.
Indulge in the quiet moments inside St. Peter’s Church, the 14th century Gothic architecture wows with a breathtaking whitewashed interior from the Reformation era that sought after simplicity, although the faint medieval frescoes from the original medieval murals still softly appear.
Undeniably stunning.
