In a podcast interview with The Ringer’s Bill Simmons, the most recent Bachelor shared all of his favorite pizza and chocolate chip eateries in the Big Apple! Matt James knows what he’s talking about since he’s been living in the city and is also the co-founder of ABC Food Tours, which helps students facing food insecurity and adversity. Here are some of his tasty suggestions:
Di Fara
Located in Brooklyn, Di Fara is a well-known pizza spot in the city. James described this as his number one place to grab a quick slice.
If you want a taste of Italy while in New York City, this is a must-try. Each pie is handcrafted by founder Domenico De Marco with a retro oven, making it one of the best pizzerias in the city. If you haven’t been, take a page out of Matt James’ book and check out Di Fara!
Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza
James’ favorite place to get a pizza pie? You guessed it! Arturo’s is a classic favorite of so many locals and tourists alike, including this bachelor.
This coal-oven pizzeria in SoHo also features a live jazz band to accompany every hearty, authentic meal. Arturo’s only serves pizzas in pies, but there are also tons of other delicious Italian options to try. It’s also known for its incredible atmosphere and vibrant experience.
Culture Espresso
Need a coffee break? Matt James mentioned that Culture Espresso has the best chocolate chip cookie he’s ever eaten in his life! That’s some high praise. Their cookies have also won awards! If you’re in the mood for a mouthwatering snack like the dozens of cookie options that Culture Espresso offers, pair it with a smooth cup of coffee.
Levain Bakery
Matt James says his other top spot for a chocolate chip cookie is Levain Bakery, where cookie lovers can choose from a wide array of options, like: chocolate chip walnut and dark chocolate chocolate chip, or just call it a day and order their signature cookie assortment.
