When they hear Atlantic City, most people’s first thought is casinos, and these are indeed great. But there is so much more than that. In the next few lines, we will give you a couple of suggestions on what to explore while visiting this New Jersey town.

Try some exquisite food

This might come as a surprise to some, but Atlantic City is actually one of the preferred destinations for foodies. There are many kinds of food that exist all over the United States but are the best in AC, and there are others that are utterly unique to this city.

And there are so many things to recommend! First of all, do not even think about leaving Atlantic City without trying Salt Water Taffy. Many places sell it at the Boardwalk, and the word is they are the best in Fralinger’s.

Other things you will find while walking up and down the backbone street and you absolutely must try are: Buffalo chicken pizza, Udon mac and cheese (mac and cheese with a huge twist), Taco pizza, Funnel cake, etc.

You should know that chefs actually love coming here to showcase their newest food creations, so you might be in for a treat that is too fresh to be on our list. That’s why you should do a little research to find out which great chef is in town with the same traveling dates as you and prepare your taste buds for something glorious.

Try your luck in casinos

We do want to stress that gambling is not the only thing you can do for fun in Atlantic City, but that does not mean we will remove it from the list of entertaining things to do. Gambling has been legal in this place since 1976, and from then, a plethora of casinos has been open, making this pastime very popular.

Blackjack, roulette, poker, slots are available in these places, and we are sure you can have a lot of fun playing any of these games. If you do want to win some money, however, we highly recommend that you do a little research about the game of your choice.

For absolute beginners, slots are a great choice and can be very entertaining, but if you care whether you win or lose, it would not hurt you to know there are different slot machine games for example, or research some strategies on how to beat the machines.

The most popular casinos in this seaside town are located just off the Boardwalk, so you will not have to wander a lot further than the center to play a couple of rounds of your favorite game. The most luxurious casino, the Borgata Casino Hotel and Spa, is a little further than the Boardwalk, but still just around 2 miles away from it.

Enjoy a show

Atlantic City is all about entertainment, and it could hardly be that without some amazing events that take place there. The city has a lot of different types of visitors, hence many different types of events: from concerts of the biggest music stars of today to box matches and greatest magicians’ shows.

Make sure to check the calendar of the upcoming events before you leave for AC. We are certain you will find at least one perfect event for you and the people you are traveling with.

Enjoy some beach activities

As the name suggests, this city is built near the shores of the Atlantic ocean. This means the visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the beach in all its glory: you can surf, fish, parasail, go kayaking, windsurfing, go on a cruise, or simply enjoy the sunset walk on the beach.

The beaches are actually so great, they are the reason AC is one of the favorite family vacay places. And the Boardwalk is built right next to them, making it easy for you to combine different ways of having fun.

Spend some casino earnings shopping

As with many other things in AC, there is an abundance of places for shopping that can match every taste. If you are looking for outlets – you should visit Tanger outlets. You can find outlet shops of world-famous brands and you can access them easily from the Boardwalk. And, speaking of Boardwalk, this is also a great place for shopping, since a number of stores are located here.

But if you would like to experience something unique, we suggest the Quarter at Tropicana. This is an indoor shopping mall; it’s Cuba themed and here, other than around 40 amazing stores and their goods, you can also enjoy the beautiful decor with old-world charm and outdoor vibes like the ones of a tropical island.

Visit the famous sites

If you enjoy visiting the tourist attractions, Atlantic city has those to offer as well. When it comes to the City’s amazing architecture, probably the most famous example is the Broadwalk, which we have already mentioned so many times. Other than that, we think you should not miss visiting the Absecon Lighthouse and enjoy the marvelous view from it.

Also, Lucy the elephant is an absolute must. It is a six-story-high wood and tin elephant that was built in the 19th century to attract buyers for summer houses in the area and it definitely still deserves attention.

Other sights are The Steel Pier for amusement park lovers, the Atlantic City Aquarium for nature fans, and for those who always want to learn more about history and culture, there are 2 War memorials, one about World War I and the other is about the New Jersey Korean War Veterans, as well as the  African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey – a place to learn more about the struggle of African Americans through the centuries.

We believe these lines can show future AC visitors that this is a city that has something to offer to everyone. It is a perfect vacation destination, no matter what type of fun you are into and whether you are traveling with your friends, your family, or alone.
