Los Angeles is known to have some of the best Mexican food ever. You have to check out some of my favorites!
1. Sol y Luna
19601 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91356 (map, website)
Neighborhood: South San Fernando Valley

Sol y Luna is a family operated restaurant serving authentic Mexican food. They do not take reservations, but the wait is definitely worth it. You must get the house special molcajete. It comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, queso fresco, peppers, cactus, and a mild sauce. It is my favorite Mexican dish ever and Sol y Luna does it right.
2. Salsa and Beer
11669 Sherman Way, North Hollywood, CA 91605 (map, website)
Neighborhood: North Hollywood

Salsa and Beer is the best authentic Mexican food restaurant in LA. Their portions are huge and their prices are fantastic. Do not miss the creamy bean dip and chips, the avocado salsa in the salsa bar, and their fajitas. Salsa and Beer will not disappoint.
3. Gracias Madre
8905 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90069 (map, website)
Neighborhood: West Hollywood

If you are looking for healthy, vegan Mexican food, then Gracias Madre is your place. The food is all organic, they have great mixed drinks, and a fun atmosphere. It’s a great place to go out with friends. The plantain chorizo quesadilla and the flautas de camote are delicious.
4. Cafe Habana
3939 Cross Creek Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 (map, website)
Neighborhood: Malibu

Cafe Habana, located in Malibu, is a great place to get a delicious bite after the beach. Sitting outside at Cafe Habana is lovely. Don’t miss the corn. On Wednesday nights the restaurant turns into a karaoke bar which is so much fun!
5. Toca Madera
8450 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048 (map, website)
Neighborhood: West Hollywood

Toca Madera is a trendy Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood. It is a super fun place to go with friends as the plates are made to be share and the atmosphere is great with upbeat music and great drinks.
