Snow Valley Mountain Resort, located in Southern California, offers great slopes without traffic delays and tedious lift lines.

In “mountain” lingo, winter means snow and snow equals skiing or snowboarding. A day trip with family or friends to the mountains is great, but well-known locations can become congested both on the road and on the slopes. I was looking to maximize ski time, and one resort offered just what I needed.
Snow Valley Mountain Resort, located in Southern California, offers great slopes without traffic delays and tedious lift lines. It is located between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake, and thus is a less known location. Many of the skiers and snowboarders are locals.

Even during the height of the holiday season, it took me less than fifteen minutes to rent the ski equipment and purchase lift tickets. I was on the mountain in no time. In addition to the beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes, there is also freestyle terrain for those looking to get creative. Once we finished our runs, my friend and I waited less than one minute to get back on the lifts.

Similar to what I’ve felt on other mountains, being on the peak of Snow Valley humbled me. With clear skies, surrounded by mountain ranges, and Big Bear Lake off in the distance, I felt tiny. Yet, I simultaneously felt as if I were on top of the world. Whether you wish to end the year in a spectacular fashion or to start the New Year with a bang, I recommend putting forth the effort to planning an annual winter mountain trip.
