Each cup possesses the familiar bitter taste while featuring the tastes of frequent locals.

Each Saturday, I venture out to my favorite coffee shop. Arriving each week promptly at 8:30 a.m., I order a Toni Morrison, find my favorite window seat, and get to work. The morning always starts slowly but soon picks up as the day continues. Parents attempt to soothe toddlers, and loud children with cinnamon rolls. Friends and family come to catch up. Students bury themselves in textbooks. Yet, despite the diverse experiences people bring into the space, we all find a way to coexist.
For the few hours I’m here, this place is a sanctuary where I can reflect on the past week and plan for a better one.
Coffee has been my secret to jumpstarting my day and discovering new parts of any city I’m in. Each cup possesses the familiar bitter taste while featuring the tastes of frequent locals.
