This Is The Perfect Way To Spend A Day In Barcelona

Follow Denise Poole for the most perfect day in Barcelona.

It was my first time heading to Barcelona, and I was more than excited for this part of my European trip. I had heard so many good things – how it was similar to LA (weather, beach, city…), and yet culturally different at the same time. Spain is one of my favorite places to visit, they just know how I like things. When I arrived I had high hopes for this city. I traveled with friends who had already been so I was able to navigate my way around well. I found that even though it didn’t strike me as spectacular in a particular way, it definitely checked off all the boxes for the most perfect day in Barcelona.

We had an amazing food experience at Tickets – one of the best I have ever had in fact. This was something special, and not to be missed. I made the time to see the famous sights, which I also do not recommend skipping.

Make a reservation and buy tickets in advance if you want to see the inside of Sagrada Familia, and as over photographed as Park Güell is, it’s still worth taking a stroll through and imagining yourself there back in the day. If you only have a few days to spend taking it all in, you should definitely take my advice in the video, as it will enable you to get a good feeling for what the city is all about. Rent a bike in the morning, and sight-see your way to the beach. Grab some tapas, and spend some time soaking up the sun. Since the days are so long during the summer, you can easily take a siesta, and then make your way into the night.

Apertivo, then a tranquilo dinner, and the rest is up to you. The night life has room for improvement, but lucky for us it was Off Week during the Sonar Festival, which we planned, so we we’re plenty entertained well into the night.

Barcelona has a great vibe, and the Spanish hospitality is always a plus. If you have the chance to go, take it, you’ll be glad you did!
