Inside the world’s largest collection of objects related to Genghis Khan.

Genghis Khan – the inspiration behind one of the newest museums in Mongolia – is an important figure as the national hero who unified the Mongolian steppe and created one of the largest empires in human history. Chinggis Khan National Museum Mongolia is not only named after him, but the architecture itself also symbolizes a yurt. Meanwhile, the main gate resembles a messenger’s pass which grants access to greater things. It follows a popular Mongolian phrase, “A thriving family can be seen from its gate.”

The museum is sprawled over nine floors, it’s the largest investment in a museum by Mongolia in the last 30 years. It contains more than 10,000 exhibits, spanning from the Bronze Age to the early 20th century. From ancient times to the Mongol Empire. Keep in mind that 80% of the artifacts are originals, visitors can also admire the world’s most extensive collection of Genghis Khan objects. In certain afternoons, there may be live performances of traditional Mongolian music.
