Where To See Fire Shows In Langkawi?

Got a burning question for what to do in Langkawi once the sun goes down?

For something to do at night in Langkawi, clubbing isn’t exactly the way to go. Sure, there are bars along the beach where DJs are spinning and volume is turned up. But one of the most unique activities on the island once day shifts to dusk, is admiring gripping fire shows.

As entertaining as they are, it must be noted that fire shows are quite dangerous and even the Ministry of Tourism is looking for ways to regulate safety guidelines for risks prevention. Back in September 2023, traveler and doctor Vivian Dominique posted on her Instagram proving that she was burned by a fire dancer during a show in Langkawi. Dr. Dominique also warned travelers to watch from afar since fire handlers won’t hold any responsibilities for injuries.

Nevertheless, fire shows remains to be one of the most popular nighttime activities in Langkawi. Here are some places where you can catch a thrilling fire show.

Kalut Cafe And Bar

For the best and most popular fire shows, head over to Kalut Cafe And Bar around 7:30 p.m. for an impressive and jaw-dropping performance. Fire handlers skillfully throw torches up in the sky, then catch them by their bare hands. All of it is choreographed along to pop songs to which we can all hum along. If you miss it, don’t worry, there’s one more spectacular performance at 9 p.m.

Kalut is open every night of the week, there are comfy bean bags on the sand where you can sit back and relax with a tasty cocktail while enjoying the spectacular show.

If you can’t get enough, there’s more shows at the Anak Hantu Beach Bar, located at the main entrance of Cenang Beach and downtown strip. The show at Anak Hantu isn’t as impressive as the one at Kalut but it goes on throughout the entire night, as opposed to the slotted times of performances at Kalut.

Don’t feel like alcohol? Anak Hantu also includes quite a list of delicious mocktails on its menu.

Walk along Pantai Cenang Beach

Stroll along the shore between Kalut and Anak Hantu beach bars, you’ll also admire fire handlers practicing for the next show with different tricks and fire pits. Every few steps, there’s a new group of boys throwing sticks of fires up in the air, following various beats of music.

Pantai Cenang is Langkawi’s most tourist-friendly beach, there’s a night market nearby to taste local delights. The main boulevard off of the beach is a fun place to shop for souvenirs for friends and family back home.

Yellow Beach Cafe

One last place to catch a thrilling fire show in Langkawi is at the popular Yellow Beach Cafe where you can also witness the stunning sunset view right on the beach. The crowd-favorite beach club has long been a favorite among international travelers, serving Western-influenced dishes, including: pizzas, burgers and fries. The relaxing outdoor seating is where guests can indulge in tasty cocktails and even Shisha. All the whiles, admire audacious fire shows performers right from the terrace.
