There’s no shortage of shopping in Paris, but Messy Nessy’s Cabinet has pierced through the hearts of female travelers, expats and locals looking for authenticity and quirk. The starting point was at Messy Nessy Chic blog, the woman behind the whimsical French-inspired universe launched a retail storefront unlike any other souvenir shop dotted throughout the city.

From Barbar’s Guide to Paris, A Tiny Sex Diary, water from the Seine River (Yes, it’s real Seine water,) and letters that shoppers can write to their future selves; every item has a sense of humor, packed with enormous wit. Nessy has published her own guide books, so no one needs to be a tourist in Paris. The shop also displays various vintage finds, including: poison rings embedded with equal myth as well as fatality, collections of old ashtrays from some of the most well-known restaurants in Paris. Think: Le Train Bleu and Café de Flore.

Messy Nessy Cabinet also hosts a monthly Writers and Readers Club in the store, uniting a community exuding French-influenced charisma and generosity. All in the spirit of: curios for the curious.
