From markets and art galleries to checking out local designers.
Since Zagreb is such an easy city to walk around, it makes shopping in Croatia’s capital even more delightful because everything you would want to buy is within reach. We purposely didn’t include any malls or shopping centers because browsing through local boutiques is far more pleasurable. From markets and art galleries to checking out local designers, this guide will ensure that you bring home the best of local finds.
Ilica Street is a busy central point where you can find major labels including Zara, Top Shop…and many more. If you’re in the mood to check out whether your favorite mainstream brands carry different products in Zagreb, then browsing along Ilica Street is your best bet.
Dolac Market is a fantastic place to shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, handwoven baskets and other handcrafted souvenirs. But near the market is also Cvjetni trg (“Flower Square”), where you can buy fresh and pretty flower arrangements.
Tkalčićeva Street is a quaint and charming area lined with restaurants and cafes. Shopping here will entail lots of souvenirs, traditional items, and even some art galleries.
Radićeva ulica is a street you can’t escape since it leads up to the Zagreb Cathedral and Dolac Market. You’ll find many local clothing boutiques here (along with plenty of souvenirs as well). But check out local Croatian fashion brands, there’s even a famous necktie store where you can bring one home. Remember, neckties are originally from Croatia!
