The guided tour begins in San Telmo, one of Buenos Aires’ oldest and most traditional neighborhoods. With its narrow cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and rich history, San Telmo has a charm all its own.

Here, you will discover how football and street art come together to give the neighborhood its distinctive character. Following Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, murals celebrating the national team’s three iconic starts became must-see landmarks for locals and visitors alike.

The first stop offers a glimpse into Argentina’s football culture and sets the stage for the stadiums to come.

Second Stop: La Bombonera

From San Telmo, the tour continues to La Boca, the colorful neighborhood that is home to La Bombonera, the legendary stadium of Boca Juniors. One of Argentina’s most celebrated football clubs, Boca Juniors has a passionate fan base which fills the stands and creates an electric atmosphere on match days.

Opened in 1940 and later renovated, La Bombonera has witnessed countless memorable moments in Argentine football, including the legendary Superclásicos against its fierce rival, River Plate.

You’ll also have some free time to explore the Museo de la Pasión Boquense, where you can learn about the club’s history, discover its legendary players, and see how its iconic jersey has evolved over the years. You can also watch a film that offers a closer look at what it’s like to play for Boca Juniors.

After exploring La Bombonera, a vehicle will take you to the Núñez neighborhood, home to Boca Juniors’ historic rivals, River Plate. Along the way, you’ll spot murals, graffiti, and other landmarks that reveal just how deeply football is woven into the city’s urban landscape. Some of these locations once housed stadiums and hosted football matches but have since been transformed into parks.

El Monumental, River Plate’s iconic home ground, is Argentina’s largest stadium. Since opening in 1938, it has hosted not only major football matches but also some of the biggest concerts and live music events in the country.

Tangol Tours will take you around the outside of the stadium, where you’ll see the world’s largest football-themed bronze statue and admire the entrance gates before heading inside the River Plate Museum.

The museum’s interactive “time-travel module” takes you on a journey through the club’s history, highlighting its greatest achievements, legendary players, and most important titles.

You’ll then explore the stadium itself, including the presidential box, the VIP stands, the indoor volleyball and basketball arenas, and the educational facilities. The grand finale is a visit to the pitch, where you’ll have the chance to take photos and capture a lasting memory of this unique experience
