For many travelers the best part about going on a trip is getting to stay at a hotel. Your home away from home as some people like to call it. But what is it about a hotel that is so different from your home?

Here are four ways to make your home feel just like your favorite hotel stay!
1. Upgrade Your Home’s Entry Way
Stop for a moment and think about the last time you stepped into a hotel. What was the first thing you saw? You saw a gorgeous lobby filled with exotic flower arrangements, mirrors, dimmed lights, arranged seating and gorgeous oil painting artwork. So, how can you do that with the small entry way to your home? Fortunately, it isn’t hard to do!
First, you need a small entryway table. This table can be wood, marble, or even a sparkling lacquer. Depending on how much space you are working with, a large round table floating in the middle of your home’s entry way is really going to make a statement to visitors who come over. Once you have the table, you just need to decorate it, which can include a nice looking lamp, a bowl with a few knick-knacks sitting inside and so forth. You may also want to consider adding a small stack of books or magazines to the table. Ideally, you should decorate the table with whatever appeals most to you and your tastes. Just don’t forget the flower arrangement!
2. Hotel-Themed Decorations
Stop for a moment and close your eyes. Picture yourself inside of a hotel room. What do you see? Wall art, plush bedding and beautiful window treatments are usually the hotel-themed decorations that come to mind. Ideally, you should create a list of what you are used to seeing in your favorite hotel rooms and look into buying those items for your home. Then, you just have to work them into your home’s current theme and style.
3. Collect Free Decorations
Chances are good that you are not going to stop traveling simply because your home now looks and feels like a hotel. Consider collecting mementos while you are on your trips and use these free items as decorations. It is extremely common for hotel rooms to be filled with brochures, maps, and other miscellaneous odds and ends that appeal to tourists. Incorporating these free items into your home’s décor is going to make it feel more much more like a hotel.
Not to mention, Dumpster diving can be another great way to collect interesting items that you can use to repurpose and decorate your home with. The key to dumpster diving is to read up on local laws and make sure it is legal. If it is, then simply avoid areas with “no trespassing” and “private property” signs and you should be fine. Even if you don’t end up finding something that you could use for decoration, you may be able to find something you could sell and then you’d have money that you didn’t have before to spend on even more decorations!
4. Turn Your Bathroom Into A Spa
Inside the best hotel bathrooms, you are going to find heated towel racks and gorgeous tiled floors perfectly heated to your comfort level. Now, some of these items may cost more than you are willing to spend for your home project.
Fortunately, you can make any bathroom feel just like a spa, even on a tight budget. All you need is a visually appealing shower curtain, some plush towels, trial-sized soaps, and some scented candles. Afterwards, dim the lights and fill your bath with bubbles the next time you want to relax, and your bathroom will feel just like a hotel spa bath! For added kicks, you might even want to get a “do not disturb” sign for your bathroom and bedroom door.
