This New Gadget Ensures You Have Lucid Dreams On-The-Go

Imagine being able to travel wherever you want, with the change of a thought.

And to top it off, not to have to worry about packing or expenses (although I admit, sometimes that makes a trip a whole lot more fun), or even the weather.

Believe it or not, it’s actually more possible than you realize with Lucid Catcher, a new Kickstarter device launched to allow lucid dreams at will. Lucid Dreams are different for every individual, but the basis of lucid dreaming is that you can control your dreams or the plot of your dreams at will. I tried one of the devices that came in the form of wearing a headband when they came to Los Angeles to do trial sessions, and was awed by the device.

I had been lucid dreaming since I was a child, without knowing exactly what it was. All I knew was that I would know I was dreaming and with excitement travel to and see whoever I wanted. However, it was extremely random that this happened to me, and quite rare. As I grew older, I found out there was a term for this type of dreaming, and there were techniques that you could use to try to have lucid dreams occur more frequently. But the techniques not only required a lot of work, I did not see much improvement in the frequency of my lucid dreams. I did read about devices that could help with the frequency of the dreams, but as I didn’t have much luck with the other techniques, I wasn’t sure about how well the device would work.

When I came upon the Lucid Catcher Kickstarter campaign and found out they were doing test trials, I had to sign up and was amazed at how easily it was to lucid dream with the device. It required no effort at all other than for me to close my eyes and relax!  You are first given a VR goggle to watch to enhance your dream experience. I admit, it really complemented the device as my dreams ended up looking a lot like the VR experience. Then, the most relaxing and exciting part of the session was being able to lie down for a nap with soft relaxing rain soundtracks in the background to assist with you falling to sleep. The headband device, I suspect, also plays a role in assisting you to fall asleep. Before you know it, you’re in dreamland where you are the one controlling what you are seeing.

Best of all, I realized that the device didn’t require me to force myself to wake up at 4 a.m. in the morning then trying to stay awake for an hour before going back to bed in attempts to fall into a lucid dream. Instead, I could literally carry the device with me during my travels (or at home) and lucid dream about traveling while traveling if I wanted to!

Currently, Lucid Catcher is still offering trials with their devices in their Los Angeles and San Francisco locations – if you’re interested in exploring more about the dream world and controlling it at will, I would recommend a trial session! Happy dreaming!
