Worth noting in your diary.

Every year there’s a fantastic range of luxury events taking place around the world, and there’s something for every taste. Here we round up three of the best events coming up this year that could be worth putting in your diary.
1. Watch All The Action At The 48th World Series of Poker
For anyone who loves a game of poker, the biggest, longest-running and most prestigious event on the poker calendar is the World Series of Poker, which this year takes place at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, starting on May, 30 2017. This heralds the start of 49 consecutive days of poker, culminating in the $10,000 no-limit hold’em Main Event. From thousands of entrants, the nine finalists will take their seats for the biggest game on July 17.
For amateurs and pros alike, it’s an exciting event to be a part of, given how the atmosphere is so intense, with different games taking place at almost 500 tables in a 100,000 square foot ballroom. Poker fans can learn a lot about gaming strategy by watching pros like Phil Hellmuth, who holds 14 WSOP bracelets and Vanessa Selbst, the world’s highest earning female poker player and the only woman to have won three bracelets in an open WSOP event.
Whether you go to the WSOP to actually take part in the tournament or you simply enjoy watching all the action, where you stay is all part of making this a trip to remember.
For out and out luxury, book a stay at the SLS Hotel & Casino, which is the result of the remodeling of the iconic Sahara Hotel where Judy Garland, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra used to perform. After a $415 million renovation and re-opening in 2014, it’s a pretty swish place to stay.
Alternatively, stay at the world’s first Nobu Hotel in Caesars Palace. Unlike many of the other glitzy and showier hotels in Las Vegas, Nobu has a much subtler and refined feel to it, including Japanese-inspired décor. For a home away from home feel, book at Skylofts at the top of the MGM Grand; these loft-style apartments offer every luxury and seriously impressive views of the Las Vegas skyline.

2. Get Shopping Inspiration At Top Marques Monaco
If you really aren’t sure what to splash out on next, then a springtime trip to Monaco is definitely in order. This will enable you to explore the showcase exhibits of the world’s biggest luxury brands all in one place at Top Marques in the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, from April 20-23, 2017.
Considered to be one of the world’s top luxury shows, this is the 14th year that Top Marques will take place. In the auto section, you’ll be able to witness the launch of at least six supercars this year. These include the D8 GTO-RS from Donkervoort, the 2,000 bhp Berus from Keating Supercars and the Asfané Italian supercar from Fragivento.
While cars are the main focus, the watch and jewelry section will give you some accessorizing ideas. Exhibitors include D’Joya, Franck Muller and designer Elena Sivoldaeva, whose jewelry display, “The Principality,” will be dedicated to Monaco’s history this year.
When you’re done browsing at the show, you’ll be able to enjoy a decadent night or two in one of Monaco’s many fabulous hotels such as the Hôtel de Paris or the Hotel Metropole.

3. Visit The Best Show To Expand Your Art Collection
If you love art and want some of the finest pieces on display in your home, then the event you have to clear your diary for is the Masterpiece Fair in London. First established in 2010, Masterpiece London is now seen as the number one international event for cross-collecting, viewing and buying antiques and works of art that date from antiquity through to today.

Each year, the Masterpiece Fair also includes the ceremony for the Masterpiece Awards. Some of the categories include Outstanding Display, Exhibits of the Year and Masterpiece Highlights. The latter are objects that best reflect rarity, connoisseurship and scholarship in 27 individual categories – truly impressive items worth seeing up close. The event is visited by nearly 40,000 people per year and takes place on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. This year, the Masterpiece Fair runs from June 29-July 5.
As for where to stay, you’ll be spoilt for choice, but two of London’s finest hotels include The Savoy in Covent Garden and Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair. Each of these events will appeal to a different audience, but in its own way, each is as decadent as the next.
