You just rely on one keyword: Beeline!
Wi-Fi in Russia is quite an easy task, contrary to popular beliefs. Most hotels will freely offer the service, and you can be connected on-the-go in metros. Even better, certain websites (such as Jetset Times) aren’t blocked off like how they would be in China. You just rely on one keyword: Beeline!
Anytime you’re out and about in Moscow, you can see Beeline WiFi WPA or simply Beeline WiFi hotspots for connection. Beeline has 15-minute free Wi-Fi that’s perfect for in between sightseeing.
Beeline also offers prepaid service cards for under USD $10 (Ru 250) for a week of usage or USD $20 (Ru 500) that you can use for a month. Once you have the card, all you need is to log on with your account, and voila!
If you’d like to use the local 4G LTE tech service, then check out Yota, which utilizes LTE standard bumping up the speed to 100 Mbit/s. Beware that Yota does control the speed, limiting to 20 Mbit/s so the network does not overload and all users can enjoy equal LTE access. Currently, this is the most mobile Internet provider in Russia. If you plan on using internet often and downloading large files during your trip, check out more details here.
