I was born and raised in Toronto in a Polish family. I’ve been traveling abroad since I was eight years old, when I took my first international flight without parents at that age! I love airports and flying, but my favorite way to travel is sailing and being the captain of my own yacht. The biggest impact traveling has had on me is humbling me by making me more aware of what I have and making me feel more grateful because of that. Not to mention, it’s afforded me a better understanding of cultural differences, and being a big fan of sailing, motivated me to pursue my great ambition to sail around the world within the next few years (don’t leave it to retirement!). With that being said, here are my top five restaurants in Toronto you must try!

1. Amsterdam BrewHouse

245 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON M5J 2K9, Canada (map, website)

Amsterdam BrewHouse is the only good restaurant on Toronto’s waterfront. It has beautiful patios overlooking the Toronto harbor of Lake Ontario with a wonderful selection of food and lots of delicious locally brewed beers on the drinks menu. There are so many beers to choose from that you’ll have lots of fun tasting all the great local beers to find your favorite one.

2. Le Sélect Bistro

432 Wellington St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1E3, Canada (map, website)

Le Sélect Bistro is a French restaurant (minus the pretentiousness) that serves great brunch and super tasty French cuisine! I highly recommend it.

3. Canis Restaurant

Canis Restaurant serves a wonderful fixed menu of locally sourced ingredients, incredibly crafted cuisine, and uniquely designed meals. The presentation and flavor of its dishes coupled with the amazing price, small intimate atmosphere and great and very knowledgeable service staff, makes this one of my favorite places to dine at in Toronto.

4. Pearl Diver

100 Adelaide St E, Toronto, ON M5C 1K6, Canada (map, website)

I love Pearl Diver for its cozy atmosphere, which perfectly sets the mood to dine on their delicious selection of seafood. If you love oysters, then come here for oyster night where you can get 100 oysters for $100!

5. JaBistro

222 Richmond St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1W4, Canada (map, website)

Do you love sushi? Then try taking it to the next level at JaBistro! This restaurant has blow-torched sushi on the menu and the seared sushi will make you fall in love with sushi all over again. Trust me, you may not want to go back to regular sushi again after this spot!
