Jazz club, cocktail bar, breweries & chippendale…this list covers it all.

I left Spain five years ago with one-way ticket to China to have my first solo adventure. Now, I live in Sydney taking any chance to explore this wild and wonderful land. From tropical rain forests and Antarctic scenery to rough desert towns, Australia made me a lover of nature. Sydney called my attention for its location, full of stunning and fun scenery of mountains and ocean, but it was its cultural and food diversity that made me stay.
So, here are my top five favorite bars in Sydney that you MUST have a drink at!
1. LazyBones Lounge
294 Marrickville Rd. Marrickville, NSW 2204, Australia (map, website)
LazyBones Lounge is my favorite place in Sydney! Located in Marrickville suburb of the city, this amazing bar/nightclub is a two-story building, with an amazing jazz bar and live music on the lower level and even more live music on the upper level! Music plays from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends and DJ’s don’t stop playing until 5 a.m.! I love this spot because it’s full of interesting and fun characters, plus all the free oven-fresh pizza to help get you through the night of heavy dance cardio!

2. Freda’s
109 Regent St., Chippendale NSW 2008, Australia (map, website)
Good live music? Check. Cool parties? Check. Raucous atmosphere? Check. Located in Sydney’s cool and hip suburb of Chippendale, Freda’s is THE place to go if you’re looking for an unforgettable time!

3. Knox Street Bar
21 Shepherd St., Chippendale NSW 2008, Australia (map, website)
Knox Street Bar features a cool interior design, has delicious home brewed craft beer, great music and it’s my go-to spot for after work drinks! Oh, and I forgot to mention after work disco every Wednesday night. Don’t miss it!

4. The Henson
91 Illawarra Rd., Marrickville NSQ 2204, Australia (map, website)
This incredible pub is located in the fabulous hotel called The Henson. I have to say that it has some of the best pub food in Sydney, especially the soft shell crab burger, which is a must-try! It has a terrific beer garden, trivia nights every Wednesday, plus rock-climbing walls for every experience level.

5. Gasoline Pony
115 Marrickville Rd., Marrickville NSW 2204, Australia (map, website)
Gasoline Pony is a cute little bar that plays great live music, especially some great jazz and blues numbers. I really love the cool vibe and atmosphere of the place, plus it’s a great spot for travelers and locals between 35-50 years to meet and mingle.

BONUS!
If you love delicious, high quality beer, then a stop by these two breweries are an absolute must on your Sydney itinerary!
Batch Brewing Company
44 Sydenham Rd. Marrickville NSW 2204, Australia (map, website)

Willie the Boatman
