Paris: Hit Up These 5 Super-Cool Local Shops

From vintage buys, excellent bottles of wine to tasty tea, here’s a list from Paris that caters to everyone on your list for souvenir gifting.

Paris is known as a haven for traveling shoppers. As someone who lives here, I had to introduce 5 brilliant hotspots where you might not necessarily see in guidebooks, but where I’ve become a regular customer. From vintage buys, excellent bottles of wine to tasty tea, here’s a list that caters to everyone on your list for souvenir gifting.

1. Les Milles Feuilles (permanently close)

2 Rue Rambuteau, 75003 Paris (map, website)

For inspiration on home decor and something to make your interior space beautiful, here’s a lovely boutique that showcases anything and everything from retro to classic styles.

2. Vintage Désir

32 Rue des Rosiers, 75004 Paris (map, website)

Paris is known for its abundance of vintage shops. Vintage Désir, though, is great if you don’t want to break the bank by purchasing a stylish oldie. From hats, bags, clothing to fur coats, this shop is perfect for anyone who loves a thrift goodie.

3. Kusmi Tea

56 Rue des Rosiers, 75004 Paris (map, website)

As one of the most popular souvenir buys in Paris, Kusmi Tea has many locations throughout the city. With fantastic blends of Chinese and Indian tea, the Russian-originated brand offer a wide selection that differ in flavor and types of wellness too.

4. Du Pain & Des Idées

34 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 Paris (map, website)

Not that you can actually pack bread in your suitcase, but Du Pain & Des Idées has become such a popular stop for tourists looking for an amazing boulangerie. Make sure to indulge in one of my personal favorite bread: pain des amis, it’s so good that it’s meant to share with your friends.

5. Le Verre Volé

67 Rue de Lancry, 75010 Paris (map, website)

Don’t wait until you’re at the airport duty free to buy a bottle of local wine. Check out Le Verre Volé, which is a wine cave and a gastro-bistro restaurant where you can sift through a wide selection of French wine. Talk to the folks at the restaurant, they can help you pick out the perfect bottle depending on price and your taste preference.
