San Francisco’s biannual restaurant week is here! The land of foodies is happy to serve its best to the hungry, the budgety…well, anyone who immerses in SF’s progressive dining scene. From June 1-15, hipsters cannot complain about the preppy, obnoxious Marina kids shoveling into their neighborhoods, while heading to North Beach will not be the only place in the city serving indulge-worthy pastas.
With so many restaurants to choose from, where should you go? (Unfortunately, not every restaurant is worth the hype.) Lucky for you, many of us on #TeamJST were born and raised in the bay. Here’s our local breakdown to keep things real simple. Top fives for lunch and top fives for dinner. Here we go:
The lowdown: Get an oyster shooter to go along with your meal. This place makes a killer combo!
The lowdown: Just enjoy the ocean view with waves of fog. There’s absolutely nothing else in the world like it.
The lowdown: Mmmm…it’s all about the mac ‘n’ cheese at Luna Park.
The lowdown: The Michelin-starred restaurant also serves up fantastic chickpea fries as a side.
The lowdown: Super fresh ingredients with superbly creative cocktails. Make sure to sip on many of them!
The lowdown: If you’re missing all that deliciousness you had in France, Chapeau! won’t disappoint.
The lowdown: One of the best and most popular Indian restaurants in the city. You’ll see why. Just try everything.
The lowdown: Grab a pre-meal drink out in its terrace area. Banana-leaf dishes on the menu have always wow-ed us away.
The lowdown: Not only is the Italian food here incredible, the ambiance at night breeds romance in the air.
The lowdown: Michelin-starred Spruce is absolutely worth all the hype. A local’s favorite is the perfect exclamation point to SF Restaurant Week.
