Stop everything! Paris meets Brooklyn equates to really creative mixology.
Loosie Rouge is a new rock and roll piano bar with New Orleans inspired food and drink in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located at 91 South 6th Street (between Bedford and Berry.) Think fashion, style, art, food and superbly amazing cocktails.
Parisian-born mixologist Nico de Soto was recently named the most influential French bartender at the 2014 Cocktail Spirits Show in Paris. He’s worked in some of the most respected cocktails bars around the world, including Experimental Cocktail Club in Paris and 69 Colebrooke Row and Happiness Forgets in London.

Some tasty cocktails on tap include: Aged Vieux Carre (Cognac, Rye, Sweet Vermouth, Benedictine and Angostura and Peychaud bitters), French 75.57 (Cognac infused with brown butter, clarified lemon juice and Sauterne Syrup) and Hurry Kane (Dark Trinidad infused with banana, spiced passion fruit syrup, clarified lemon juice and coconut water) and Plantain Daiquiri Slushy (roasted plantains, lime juice, demerara syrup and green tea)…just to name a few.
De Soto decided to share with us a fantastic cocktail recipe you can DIY at home. Gearing up for a weekend party? You can make in advance and serve in a large punch bowl (just multiply the recipe below by however many cocktails you need.)
1.5 ounce Pimms
1/2 ounce Aquavit
1/2 lemon juice
1/2 ounce grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce rhubarb syrup
1/4 ounce cucumber juice
3 dashes celery bitters
Top with ginger ale
Pour the ingredients in to a cocktail shaker over ice, then shake. Strain over ice into a glass (suggested glassware: Longdrink Tumbler). Makes one cocktail.
