Australian band Cloud Control gave us a few seconds of their time to share a few travel tidbits that echo their hippy-natural musical styling.
We’ve been jamming out to the beats of alternative rock band, Cloud Control, ever since Evan recommended them in his spotlight of Australian bands. Quirky, yet delicate, their chill tunes veer away from your standard indie music. Their tracks will serenade you with spacey vocals recorded in the most unusual of places (up for a trip to the caves, anyone?), and this surreal sound definitely peaked our taste for the foreign.
The band gave us a few seconds of their time to share a few travel tidbits that echo their hippy-natural musical styling. Read on to learn more…
1. If your soul embodied a city, which would it be and why?
It would be a developing port city on the south coast of Spain; serviced by a new trade route, the city is forced adapt to an influx of merchants and new world money. In a flurry of infrastructure spending, it commissions a Living Bridge – a sweeping arch covered by native coastal plants – the first of its kind. Time magazine declares the mayor Person of the Year, but the mayor declines the feature because he is ashamed of his lack of attention to the burgeoning social problems of the localized population boom.
2. One surprising item you can’t be without on the road.
A tennis ball – for impromptu alleyway handball tournaments – and a toastie-maker; because everyone knows that anything tastes better between buttered bread and melted cheese.
3. What is your favorite restaurant in the world and what do you always order?
The Oriental Hotel in Springwood: a glass of Riesling to accompany Ellen’s Sexy salad of roast pumpkin, avocado, cashew nut pesto, crispy sweet potato, cherry tomato, followed by the sticky date pudding. [The] ultimate comfort meal.
4. What artists are on your go-to playlist right now?
Caribou, Kanye West, Jon Hopkins, PJ Harvey, Frank Ocean, MGMT.
5. Which do you think is the most beautiful language in the world?
Farsi, the language of Ancient Persia and [of] modern day Iran.
