Perched on the fourth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, Lung King Heen has been one of the city’s defining destinations for refined Cantonese cuisine since opening in 2002.

Lung King Heen was created under the culinary direction of Chef Chan Yan Tak, a Hong Kong-born chef whose extraordinary career began not in culinary school but in the kitchen at the age of 12. After his father passed away, Chan began working at Dai Sam Yuen in Wan Chai to help support his family, eventually gaining experience at some of Hong Kong’s most respected Chinese restaurants. He later joined the former Regent Hong Kong before being persuaded to come out of retirement to lead Lung King Heen.
In 2008, Chan made culinary history when he became the first Chinese chef to receive three Michelin stars, with Lung King Heen retaining the distinction for 14 consecutive years. The restaurant currently holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide.

Lung King Heen’s cooking is grounded in traditional Cantonese techniques, but Chan’s meticulous approach gives familiar dishes an unusually polished character. Among the restaurant’s signature dishes is the baked whole abalone puff with diced chicken, a delicate pastry combining rich abalone with savory chicken. Other celebrated specialties include barbecued suckling pig, braised goose webs, and sautéed Australian beef tenderloin, while the dim sum selection is an important part of the experience.
More than two decades after its opening, Lung King Heen remains an important part of Hong Kong’s fine-dining landscape and a destination for travelers seeking exceptional Cantonese cuisine. Its name, which translates roughly to “view of the dragon,” is particularly fitting for a restaurant overlooking Victoria Harbour from the Four Seasons, pairing expansive city views with an elegant dining room and highly polished service.
