Vároliget Skate Rink. Budapest, Hungary
It couldn’t be more magical than skating in a place with a huge fairytale-like castle in the background and other dreamy buildings located in the capital of Hungary: Budapest. The cherry on top: another interesting rink opened in Budapest this year called Jégfolyosó. You can slide in a 25×30 meter alley between lighted trees. How cool is that?
Vienna Ice Dream. Vienna, Austria.
From January until March in the heart of Vienna, the Rathausplatz turns into a huge ice rink. It is a romantic ice dream indeed, with the beautifully illuminated City Hall in the background. Just like in Budapest, there is an ice alley as well, connected to the rink.
Rockefeller Center. New York City, USA
Couldn’t leave this iconic place from my list! A familiar scene from Christmas movies, people skating in front of the Rockefeller Centre surrounded by festive atmosphere and of course, the Christmas Tree in the background. A winter holiday in New York couldn’t be complete without visiting this place!
Shichahai Lake. Beijing, China
Everybody visits the Forbidden City while visiting China, but you should also take some time to visit the historic area of Shichahai consisting of three lakes. People also use sleds to slide around and stare at the gorgeous oriental scene.
