It sure sounds a lot like one.
Just admit it Airbnb, you’re building a hotel in Florida.
In a statement on Airbnb’s website, the home-rental company is currently working with a property developer Newgard Development Group to open a 300-unit rental complex in Kissimmee, FL. It’ll be named: Niido powered by Airbnb. Newgard will build and own the complex, but the name will have Airbnb’s brand on it. Newgard plans on building 2,000 Airbnb-branded units in the net two years.
AirBnB reinventing the unregulated hotel is just another one of the new-economy-creating-depression-era artifacts: shady boarding house.

Fancy way of announcing that Airbnb is building it’s own version of an extended stay hotel. https://t.co/ncydGklOT9

According to an interview on Financial Times, Airbnb’s head of multi-family housing projects Jaja Jackson said:
Tenants will have their own app designed for the special landlord-tenant support.
Okay, maybe this isn’t EXACTLY like a hotel. But maybe we can call it a timeshare?
