Map out Boston, Barcelona, Berlin, and Costa Brava in UnCharted.
The film adaptation of the treasure-hunting video game Uncharted crashed onto Netflix, giving audiences a (gold) rush.

Starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan, this duo stole hearts as easily as lifting jewelry off marks. With clues to a pirate loot and a map to guide them, Nate and Sully must navigate mistrust from enemies and each other. Follow the thieves to the ultimate riches as they travel the world.
SPOILER WARNING!
The Harvard Art Museums

The Harvard Art Museum is the first place 10-year-old Nathan Drake attempts to loot. This robbery also provides the motivation behind Nathan’s partnership with Sullivan. It is because of the consequences associated with the attempted heist that Nathan’s brother, Sam, leaves and isn’t seen by Nathan again. In the museum, the boys are stealing a map of Magellan’s route along the edge of the world. The map is the key to finding the treasure Sullivan is so desperately chasing, however the map itself is not there. The Harvard Art Museums do not have a map of Magellan’s route, (aka The first map of the world). According to its website, the Harvard Art Museums house plenty of interesting collections to entice anyone to make the trip to Boston. The collections include both sculpture and oil paintings as well as handmade sketches.
Deutsche Telekom Representative Office

The Deutsche Telekom Representative Office is used as the backdrop for the first heist Sullivan and Nate commit in order to use the key. The key becomes extremely useful for the duo in the latter half of the quest, therefore it is an absolute necessity to steal it from the auction house where it is displayed. The Deutsche Telekom Representative Office becomes the Augustine Auction House in this scenario. Although seemingly in New York City, the Deutsche Telekom Representative Office is located in Berlin, and is “a physical space that nourishes discussion and inspires your future visions in culture, politics, science, the economy, technology and social development.” Its glass exterior provides an ironic background for the group of thieves as they each have their own motivation hidden behind the possession of the key.
Plaza Carles Buïgas

The Plaza Carles Buïgas located in Barcelona is used for another exciting chase in the film. After Nate and Sully follow the clues in Magellan’s journal to Barcelona, it is revealed that Sully knows where the second key to the treasure is. More specifically, who has it. The holder of the second key is Sully’s former partner, Chloe Frazer (Sophia Taylor Ali). The interaction leads to a foot chase on the rooftops of Barcelona, through the Plaza de Carles, ending in the fountain. Despite initial mistrust between them, the trio decides to search for Magellan’s gold together.
Santa Maria del Pi

Santa Maria del Pi is a beautiful church in Barcelona, where the hunters spend a majority of the film. It is here that the three of them find the hidden tunnels supposedly leading to the gold. According to its website, the church is located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. The church originally stood in the 5th century, however this iteration of Santa Maria del Pi was built between 1319 and 1391. “The basilica has the biggest rose window in Catalonia. It is an exact copy of the 14th-century original.” Inside the church is a statue of Virgin Mary, where the trio finds the entrance to the nonexistent underground tunnels.

The Maluku Islands in Indonesia serve as a background for Nate and Chloe as they float through the water. After falling out of an enemy plane, the two cling to the cargo in the middle of the Banda Sea. The Banda Sea carries them toward an island, (or islands) known as the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. Sadly, the island does not have the resort Nate and Chloe find when they approach.
Sa Boadella Cove

Sa Boadella Cove in Lloret de Mar in Costa Brava is the site of the aforementioned resort. Its website states that the beach is located in “a privileged enclavement, accessible through a pine wood between Santa Clotilde Gardens and Santa Cristina beach.” The Cove also has a bar-restaurant and underwater caves for both the explorer and the vacationer alike.
La Marina Alta Caves

La Marina Alta Caves in Spain offer a close substitute to the caves where Magellan’s ships were found. The filming location offers Denia, Spain as the area where the underwater caves are to be found, however, it is unclear if the caves exist. La Marina Alta Caves allow the traveler to satisfy the need for exploration. There are two caves in the La Marina Alta Region: El Rull Cave and Las Calaveras Caves. Both of these caves are open for touring and swimming. La Marina Alta Caves may not house ships but these cavities are full of beauty, history and enjoyment for all.
