Same motives, different gang of heathens and a giant-walking shark, need we say more?
The Suicide Squad is a VFX masterpiece of a film which stars Idris Elba reprising his role as Bloodsport. Alongside Elba, the film also stars Margot Robbie returning as the infamous Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman returning as the noble Colonel Rick Flag, Viola Davis returning as the manipulative and conniving Amanda Walker, John Cena as double agent Peacemaker or ‘lower-budget Captain America’ (as one could call him,) Daniela Melchior as kind-hearted (and sleep-deprived) Ratcatcher 2, David Dastmalchian as the mother-obsessed Polka Dot Man and Sylvester Stallone as the voice behind the hungry King Shark.

The Suicide Squad’s mission is to destroy an experiment called Project Starfish, while trying to get past two dictators in Corto Maltese who want to use the top secret experiment to destroy America.
MONSTER SPOILERS AHEAD…
ATLANTA, GEORGIA
TRILITH STUDIOS

Formally known as Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Trilith was where the majority of the sets of the movie were built. According to Atlas of Wonders, it took over 10 weeks to build the jungle region and that entire set was 40,000 sq ft. Production even built a beach that the first Task Force, before the full Suicide Squad was reunited, failed to survive in the film. Apparently, they wanted a custom beach for this movie to encompass how brutal the first Task Force (well, at least the majority of them) dies. Even the huge laboratory scene was built on a set.
PANAMA
Corto Maltese is not a place you could actually visit. The fictionalized country is located in South America, but in reality, scenes were filmed in Panama; Located in Central America. The cast and crew spent a month filming here.
PALACIO MUNICIPAL DE PANAMA

Located in the capital of Panama, Panama City, this museum was portrayed as The Corto Maltese Government Palace. It stands in the Old Town’s Cathedral Square. Harley Quinn was brought here and was wooed by the younger dictator, until she shot him. This place has everything from treasury offices to a Council Meeting room. The Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.
VALLE DEL MAR STREETS AND AMADOR GUERRERO’S AVENUE
About 5 to 10 streets were sectioned off for various running and fight scenes; Not to mention, kidnapping strange-looking characters and almost sniper attacks to save Harley, who had already managed to get herself to safety.
CLERMONT LOUNGE

One of ATL’s oldest strip joints was transformed into a trendy Spanish club called La Gatita Amble for the film. This landmark is frequented by many celebrities from Morgan Freeman to P!nk to the Atlanta Housewives. It is located at 789 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE. If you are 18+, this is the hot spot to party with an A-list crowd.
COLON

This seaport town featured a giant Starro The Conqueror, that spewed mind-controlling baby starfish from its armpits, roaming and destroying the city. Not even joking, I mean nothing is easy nor normal when The Suicide Squad is involved. After all, “it’s kind of (their) thing.”
