“The Taj Mahal, today in India. Breathtaking to view and experience. It’s just the ultimate love story.”
The ivory marble mausoleum was commissioned by Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in 1632. A tomb for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, it includes a mosque and a guest house. In this story of love and dedication, is the masterpiece of 20,000 artisans under a board of architects led by the court to the emperor. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, it’s been hailed as “the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.” It attracts 7-8 million visitors a year.
