Gozo, the sister island of Malta, is now a destination for VIPs, thanks to Game of Thones and most recently Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who are there shooting their latest film: By The Sea.

Fans of Homer’s Odyssey may recognize Gozo as home of the nymph Calypso. In the story, Calypso who was in love with Odysseus and held him captive for years after Calypso possessed supernatural powers.

Brangelina’s travel film will include the island’s scenic beach on the Bay of Mgarr ix-Xini. If you’re planning a visit to Gozo, and want to jetset like Hollywood’s power couple, here are some ways to indulge the beautiful island just like them!

1. Catch a movie at Citadel Cinema.

Latest movies in cheap prices! Not that money would be an issue for Brangelina, but for family vacationers, Victoria’s Citadel Cinema is a fantastic venue for quality time with kids. The cinema is inside a 19th century townhouse, and it often features the latest Hollywood films.

2. Shop ’til you drop at local Rabat Victoria.

There’s nothing more local than a trip to the Rabat (Victoria) and its main market square: It-Tokk, where travelers can find tiny alleys filled with shops selling food, wine, cheese, and souvenirs you can bring home. It’s also a focal point of numerous restaurants and bars.

3. Make a stop at Ġgantija temples.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site captivates jetsetting culturatis such as Brad and Angelina. The Ġgantija temples are the earliest series of megalithic temples in Malta, they’re even older than the pyramids in Egypt, making them 5,500 years old. Archeologists believe the many statues at the temples are connected with a cult. If you can’t make it to Egypt, then you’ve got to check out these ancient grounds.

4. Jet-ski in Ramla Bay.

Located on the northern side of the Gozo island, Ramla Bay has a wide and sandy beach. When viewed from the high ridges surrounding the valley, Ramla Bay looks like a beautiful quilt, thanks to the farmers who built terraced walls to create the effect. There are tons of activities travelers can do on this part of the island, including: jet-skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving. This is also home to many luxurious beach resorts and hotels.

5. Say a little prayer at Ta’ Pinu Church.

It’s beautiful up close, and extraordinary from afar! Ta’ Pinu Church is a national shrine of the blessed Virgin, located on the edge of a cliff in open countryside. The church is free for the public to enter, but note that men should not wear shorts inside and women need to cover their shoulders in order to enter. Say a little prayer…

6. Scuba dive at Azure Window.

World famous among scuba divers, the Azure Window is a limestone natural arch on Gozo island. Located near Dwejra Bay, the gorgeous formation was created after two limestone sea caves collapsed. Make sure to also check out The Inland Sea, and Fungus Rock. If this place looks familiar to you, it’s where Games of Thrones was shot!
